13 Aug 2010 00:26

Staying at the Efes Inn Hotel :?: Half board for 2 weeks.
Packings all done and we're ready to leave, taxi's coming 11.30am, ben (11) in bed - not sleeping cos hes excited, hubby in bed snoring - men pft. Me - im not switched off and way to excited to sleep !!!
So any last minute tips?
Hubby wanting to do dalyan/mudbaths but read recent report of people being sick on return journey?
Id like to do a jeep safari - as been in turkey before but not done one and think ben wouold enjoy it? Am i right in thinking we should buy a water gun at tasas? sure someone recccomended this.
Hubby wants to do a fishing trip - i know icr do one so will call in there but whats it like for none fishers?
Ben wants to go on captain bullshits boat - think the fascination is more the name of the place and the boat - v,funny when 11 year old lol - is it suitable for families? we're not quiet but dont wanna be full of louts lol
Only other thing planned is cleopatras island - cos it sounds idylic - any views?

Phew - lots there to answer for the night before my hols - my apologies im a bit excited lol, I'll check n here before we leave tomoro

Night night x (assuming i sleep lol)

Hi Nurseynewcastle.
We fly out tonight from London at 10 but been up since 4!!!, like you more excited than kids ha ha
We did the mudbaths and it is a good day out but our boat took about 4 hours to get back to Icmeler. Not sure if they are all the same but could account for the sickness etc.
There are loads of excersions to do, we love the boat trips, really good fun for all ages and very relaxing.
Hope you have a fab holiday.
Just hope I can shut the cases on my numerous cases! can never travel lightly, always over pack. Oh, best tip for me was to take an extension lead for all the chargers etc. That way, you only need one adapter.

Hope this helps.

Jane

Hi,

Just to let you know that you would regret not having a water gun on the jeep safari. But be prepared for the road to get a bit rough in places. But your 11 year old will love it. Where else can you throw water over complete strangers and get away with it.

hope you enjoy it. We fly out friday night btw!

Hi nursynewcastle, we're back 2 weeks ago from the Efes Inn and I can honestly say it was a brilliant holiday :!: The staff are AMAZING! from the reception to the cleaners to the staff in the restaurant- aww, Eddi and all the boys and not forgetting Reg, my pal for the fortnight, really REALLY lovely people :!: :!: The pool isn't that big but it's enough to cool off in and have a wee swim, who wants to do laps of a pool in 50 degree heat :?: We were B&B and I have to praise up the food cause we enjoyed every meal we had, the breakfast is typical turkish but if you want english then you just have to walk up the street and get it for a couple of pounds and we're talking 'the works!'
The room we had was on the 4th floor overlooking the bay- gorgeous. It needed a wee bit of refurb and the aircon needed fixed and a wee tip DO NOT look at the sink in the b'room the wrong way, its only stuck on with glue and ours fell off twice! It was fixed quickly tho so it was ok. Another tip if you dye your hair...take a dark towel or ask them for an old marked one or you will be charged for it, I was getting charged 20 lira cause I got hair dye on a hand towel but since it was a small towel I only got charge 10. Didn't really mind tho cause it was my fault.
Anyway,I'm soooo jealous of you I'm still hankering after the place..do you have enough room in your suitcase for me   Hope you have as great a time as we had and look forward to your review cause everyone has a different slant on their holiday.
Chow for now
Maggie ( say hallo to Reg for me pls :D Tell him Margaret from scotland's phone didn't work when I got home :( )
