hi all

does anyone know: my daughter and her firend are in icmeler and should have flown home last thursday morn at 2am, when they phoned their transfer ( not ICR) the day before to check the time of pick up they was told their pick up time was 9pm on thursday night not the wednesday night as thought, turns out it was the wednesday night so hence missed their flight, i have had such a battle with the travel company, no one will take responsibility may aswell bang my head in a brick wall, so fed up of it, has anyone else had this experience and what did u do? cheers

Oh dear, sorry about that, there is the question on another thread posted today when someone is asking if you should phone the flight carrier to verify the flight 48 hours before departure as specified on tickets/information for this very reason. This is a classic example why everyone should. It is a terrible situation to be in and you must be really worried but legally I dont think there is much you can do unless it was a package holiday- if it was it might be worth seeing a solicitor here or Citizens advice to see what you can do. If it wasn't a package tell them to get to a travel agent or get the apartment/hotel owner to go on the internet to get them as cheap a flight home as possible. Unfortunately this is a busy time. Hope they get home ok.

I recommend you post your question on the HolidayTruths complaint section, there are a lot of people with a wealth of knowledge about this sort of thing.

Sorry to read about your daughters problem, hope they have now managed to return home. Was their airport transfer part of the deal with the flight operator or separate as could a bit more complicated.

Hi, thanks for the information, she will be home this friday as the flights to get home sooner are really expensive. I booked it all together off the internet, noy sure if this would be covered on their travel insurance either?
