Getting to Dalyan

Postby jivebunnie0 » 02 Jul 2010 21:06

I know there are boat trips which go to Dalyan, but are there alternative ways to get there, and if so where from, approximate cost please.

Thanks in anticipation

We were on a trip to Dalyan, mud baths etc years ago and we went by bus then boat. Last year we did Dalyan again and it was all by boat. Much better if you can get bus for most of the journey but not sure if it's still available. Maybe someone else will know. :)

hi we have just spent 4 nights in dalyan, then 7 in icmeler,we caught the dolmus from dalyan main square at around 10(we actually set off around 10.20)we arrived in marmaris around 12 after dropping two passengers off in akyaka ,it was 20 lire well spent. If you go to the coach shops that are behind tansas in marmaris they will be able to sort you out with a dolmus or at least point you in the right direction, alternativly the coach park in icmeler which is best described as being round the back of the marti (i cant explain this any other way)may be able to help.another suggestion would be to go to the main otogar in marmaris.it is around an hours journey and it is basically the same route as the airport exact distance i dont know iwould estimate around 50 miles

Good guess, 53.71 miles according to multimaps.

Catch the Dolmus to Tanas,Marmaris, then the free one, (at the same place as you get off from Icmeler), to the otogar at the top end of Marmaris. Take any of the buses going to Fethiye, they go every thirty minutes, explain to the driver that you are going to Dalyan and when you get to Ortaca you will have to change and catch the Dolmus to Dalyan (the driver will probably have told them you are coming and this bus will probably be waiting for you as they go every 30 minutes). The bus will drop you in the middle of Dalyan, and if it is the beach you are looking for you can catch the dolmus every few minutes, the journey takes about ten mins. The whole journey will take about two hours from Icmeler to Dalyan.

That sounds very confusing! lol. Are there any of the trip sellers do trips where you go on the coach to Dalyan?

3 years ago we managed to go on a coach to Dalyan then onto the river boats, but last year we could only find the boats, which took twice as long and we didn't enjoy at all.

Does anyone know if there's still any coaches that go? We're a large group and would all get confused swapping Dolmuses (although it's good to know it can be done :) )!

Hi jayelay,
Why don't you contact the ICR Team in Icmeler to see if they do this trip if not because as you have said you are a large party of people they may be able to arrange a special day out for you all. Get in touch with Sharon I am sure she will listen to your requirements and do her best to satisfy them.

Hi, we did the Dalyan trip June last year by coach then joined the river boats, it was a fantastic trip, it was arranged through a Goldtrail rep ! we would actually like to do it again this year as we are taking family with us, i wonder if we can book through a Goldtrail rep even though we are not travelling with them.?
