selen2????

Postby bitsy4 » 24 Jun 2010 16:46

just back from icmeler, great holiday as usual, but, stayed at selen 2not very happy, first room we where given light switches hanging out of wall, changed room same as before, this is 5 in the morning on arrival, got to bed at six 8 0clock someone is tuneing in the sound system.
determind it wont upset me us we had breakfast went to beach .had half decent sleep on beach had walk about met old friends this is are 8th year in icmeler and have a lot of friends to visit. back at hotel about 4 thought a wee sleep shower and out for meal ha. ha dance music 4 in the afternoon. no sleep. out for meal back to hotel about 1oclock bar is busy thoght must be alwright up to room had drink on balcony with my wife went to bed very warm left balcony door open continues drone from bar shouting swearing poolbals throne about the table, whent on till 5 in the morning and on a regular basis.complaned about it a few times and was told to close the patio door.that was reception, seen manager and nothing was done.heard manageress telling some guest they shouldnt go out for meals as they are paying staff to wait on us an its not very fair.
i have not stayed hear before and will not again there was a power cut for 4 maybe 5 hours and the only place with a generator was the bar,38 to 40dg and no shower no toilets and no flushing a hotel this size should have its own generator.the small bar down the road let us use thers at no cost cos we had a beer there at night after the beach the bar was the dursan,so the choice is yours i no what mine is.bitsy4

We too have just returned from a week at the Selen2. My daughter went there in 2007 and said it was lovely so we decided to try it again. We got a good deal for 6 of us so can't really complain but the new manageress was totally ignorant and never spoke to us even though she was stood at the side of us. She only spoke to my 21 year old to tell him quite curtly not to bring water in even though we saw plenty of people returning from the shop across the street with water in their hand. They actually walked past her and she never said a word to them, this may be because they were rather loud and wouldn't have been quite as polite with her as my son was. I could understand the problem if we didn't spend at the bar but we did buy drinks from them everyday. The bar staff were really good with my son, daughter and their partners and couldn't do enough for us and worked really hard but I agree the music was too much when we wanted to go to bed a bit earlier than our kids!. All in all we got what we paid for but I would probably go for an apartment next time and there's some lovely ones near the beach.

We enjoyed the banter with the people trying to get you in their restaurants as they weren't pushy and my impression of the turkishis that they are lovely people. We also enjoyed the boat trip althought it was 45 degrees so just a little too hot for sunbathing on top of the boat.

yes I know it's a hotel .They also have selen apartments when I booked in the picture you see the swimming pool. But since booking I found out that you have to go over the road to the hotel to the swimming pool which I found a bit misleading to the brochure. That's why I said I will buy water and soft drinks from the the supermarkets. And go for a meal in the evening in the many bars we knows after 16 years of going to icmeler.

pat i also thought about booking the selen apartments, it wasn't until the last minute that i realised that the pool they advertise is across the road at the hotel. very misleading in my opinion also.

no problem pat

we have stayed at the Dursun every year for the last 8 years

we go to tansas every day for drinks bread cheese etc no problems ever with staff

but we do spend at Dursun breakfast every day unless going on an early trip dinner if there & a couple of evening meals during are stay

staff are some of the best in icmeler along with Ali at Mitos on the canal who used to work at the Dursun & Murat who is somewhere else now

we are at Dursun from 6th Aug till 23rd Aug so if anyone wants to have a look around these apartments or play in 1 of our killer pool competitions just call in

everyone have a good holiday

i've got used to the idea we have to cross the road to the pool area.A lady on this forum called dinky cath said it's only a small road so don't mind that.My main concern is now I don't want the attic rooms people moan about.
