We change our money out there we seem to get a better rate than here

I wanted to do this take the cash/bank card... but OH (if he goes :p) wants to do it all in travellers checks/currency ordered here....

what would be the best?

I always take cash and change it into lira over there. Some shops are open 24/7 so there is never a problem getting money changed. If I run short I use my Nationwide debit card.

If you only have sterling you can give tips in £1 coins until you have changed some money.

Drivers etc collect the coins and when they have 10 they ask holidaymakers to change them for a £10 note so they can exchange for lira. I came home with a very heavy purse and plenty of change for parking meters!

we only changed a little before we came in june we found little shop by the chateau the best doing the same in july
