After numerous visits to
Icmeler I am ashamed to admit that I have never eaten in the Old Village - something I intend to rectify this year.
Being of a certain age (some would say old) I don't like loud bang bang music playing in the background but have no objection to anything else.
I like all types of cuisine (although OH doesn't like Mexican) but it must be good quality.
All recommendations appreciated.

You should definitely try the Wayside restaurant. Turn left at the tansas and walk straight for about 2mins and it's on the left. It's a proper restaurant and doesn't turn into a bar at 10pm, food is gorgeous...save some room for their famous cheesecake though as it's to die for

another endorsement for the wayside, the food is really good, been going to turkey to various resorts since early 90's and can honestly say in my opinion this is the best restaurant i have eaten in. in fact we are coming to
icmeler in august especially to go to the wayside for a special birthday which is saying something as icmeler isnt our first choice of destination. we too dont like the boom boom bars, try the watside , am sure you will like it.

But the wayside isn't in the old village

there are a few but the one we went to was roses cafe.

yes i wasnt sure if it was there or not, still good though and not in the centre near the noise

I've looking at
Icmeler in Google Earth trying to see where the old village is but it isn't obvious to me. Could you give me a couple of street names?

Go up the dry canal (heading in the direction away from the beach) you come to a crossroads, turn left and thats the real old village.
We tried the Wayside last year after walking past it previous years and were disapointed. The atmosphere was great, really friendly owner and nice decor, but we had 2 poor steaks out of a party of 9 and for the price it just wasn't worth it.

although Wayside isnt in the old village i cant recommend it highly enough
the owners are really good friends of ours and its amazing
would recommend the jack daniels steak, wayside chicken nest
and for dessert the cheescake with either raspberry or chocolate sauce or the chocolate brownie
amazing food, nice surroundings and perfect for a quiet meal with a change of scenery

For me the best restaurant in the old village is Ozzys. Food, staff and prices are all excellent. The atmosphere is so chilled, I cant recommend this place highly enough. For anybody who hasnt tried it, it really is worth a visit. Ozzy himself is a smashing bloke and will make you very welcome.

Ozzys restaurant is excellent, good food and a nice guy - even made my brother a birthday cake. Full english breakfasts there are the best and cheapest in the area with real sausage and black pudding too!
Cheers John

Thanks folks, we will be dining at Ozzy's restaurant as well. Will also look for the Italian place.
We should be able to try everywhere as we are also in
Icmeler in September so have plenty of nights to fill.
Thanks again.

Where about is Ozzys? i like the sound of that......
27 Feb 2010 22:06
For Ozzys follow the road up past Romance (another good restaurant/bar), past robin hood and harry rams and keep going, you'll see it on the left hand side near to wembley bar.
Cheers John

Always fancied that but never found it - is it the bar you walk past, on the corner, to get to the bakery in the old village.

Have to agree that Ozzy's is a great place to eat and relax, it also has a good play park for the kids and Ozzy is a great host, once you go there you will want to go back
