Sorry to hear you cant get your Icmeler fix this year, you must be devastated. Lets hope things pick up for you soon.

Good luck for the weather, surely we cant have another summer like the last 2 years.

Due to my husbands ill health, we can't make it to Icmeler this year, and we didn't make it last year either. I have 17yrs of happy holidays there to look back on and I know all you good people on this forum will allow me to share your holiday this year just like you did last year.........so please post your photographs, they are much appreciated.

We Are not going to Icmeler this year either.
Our reason for not going is a happy one. We have just become grandparent's for the 1st time on 1st of April.
Our holiday fund has gone on helping our daughter + son in law prepare for the arrival of Zachary Jacob.
He is absolutely gorgeous, so we really don't mind a weekend in the lakes instead of our fortnight in Icmeler.

Will regularly be watching the web cam and reading the forum.
Happy hols to everyone who is going.

We unfortunately wont be getting our Icmeler fix, due to us having a 6 month old baby.

Thought it wise to stay in the Uk this year, so we too are going to Cornwall for a week.

not going to icmeler

clare sorry to hear your not going this year? ask your self this, notts to cornwall ,and staying in cornwall, in rip off britain. this will more or less cost you more, so with a little belt tightening i don,t think their will be much in it ? icmeler wins this for me ,weather wise you could pay this money in cornwall ,and watch the rain from your hotel window ,for two weeks. sorry but think about it, have a nice time whatever you decide. bye for now bill atkinson

Sorry to hear you will miss Imeler this year Clare, but Bill is right my frien paid £600 pounds for a caravan last year in Padstow and to eat out cost loads. My son saves thsoe Haven vouchers in the sun and goes of peak for about £40 and has a great time all entertainment on the night as well,so sort out some bargains before booking.

We made the mistake of going to Lanzarote a few years ago instead of Icmeler, it cost a bomb, would not do that again even though Dalaman airport can be a pain coming back, it is worth the trouble to get 2 weeks of heaven.
I have family in Cornwall but don't go there because of the cost, just driving there can cost over £160 both ways.

Sorry to hear you can't make it to Icmeler this year Clare and Sirkyboy.

Am sure you'll have a great time in Cornwall - we used to holiday there before we discovered "abroad" or rather Icmeler, and still miss it!! It would be the first place we'd head for if we couldn't make it to Icmeler - even with an 8 hour non stop drive from home.

We used to stay near Padstow which we discovered quite by accident (long story which happily turned out well) and had some of our best and cheapest holidays thanks to Tesco's ready cooked chickens, a beach tent and a pack of playing cards (like I said, long story). The kids were happy with their wetsuits and bodyboards - didn't matter to them what the weather was like!

The weather was always great (just the odd shower) and the people soooo friendly, don't forget to let us know how you get on and make sure you have a great time!

£160, wow! You could get a burger and chips for that in Dalaman ;)

I'm not sure that we are going to make it for our Icmeler fix this year. Mrs C is going into hospital in June for a revison of one of he knee replacements. Given the trouble she had with the last one we thought it sensible to not book anything yet.
Also, when she is in hospital, David shall be treking through Italy as part of his Duke of Edinburgh award (lucky him).
If all goes well with the surgery, we hope to book "last minute" in September.
Here's hoping

Fingers crossed, both for Mrs C, with her op, and also that you will be able to get back later in the year. :)

We went to Newquay a few years ago and the beach was absolutely lovely. the only thing was the weather was a bit unpredictable. we had showers one day and sun the next.

We are quite lucky this year as we are going to Ireland in May to visit relatives so no big hotel bill and Icmeler in Sept as we got quite a cheap deal last Nov.

I was checking out the weather for Ireland and it seems I will have to take a bit of everything ( raincoat, woollies, tee shirts, etc)

One of the pluses about going to Icmeler is you can near
enough guarantee the weather so packing is not such a nightmare.
Sorry for everyone who is unable to go this year but will try to get some good pics when we go.

hope everyone who cant make it will enjoy looking at everyone photos and reading their reviews
