Hi does anyone know the best way to send a laptop to a someone in
icmeler

It would be quite expensive. I sent a Car CD player to a Friend in Turkey for his Fathers car. It cost me about £30 to send it, then they had to pay tax on it when they received it, because the Turkish Govt charge tax on electrical equipment entering into Turkey.
Dont you know anyone who could take it for you?

I wouldn't carry anything abroad for anybody , least of all somebody off a forum that I didn't even know
Meant in the best possible way, don't want to offend anybody

Sorry, but I think it's a sad indictment of today's society that we dare not take a gift for someone in a much worse off country than ours. I appreciate the safety aspect but feel that it's a sorry state of affairs. Are all members untrustworthy? I don't think so. The world is full of genuine people and not mercenaries.

I second that
I cant imagine there have been too many columbian drug barons on here grooming people to take a heroin filled laptop to Turkey!
I would glady help anyone by taking something and thank those who offered to help me.

No one is saying all members on this forum are untrustworthy, but apart from the few I have actually met in the resort, they are all complete strangers to me.
Unfortunately in this day in age you have to be careful, and it is a question that you are asked a check in, has anyone given you anthing to carry for them. I dont know what the reaction would be if I said oh yes someone from a holiday forum has asked me to take blaa blaa over for them
The way Britain is going at the moment. I dont think Turkey is a much worse of country.

Lynn M I appreciate that but I am of an age where these things were never considered. I feel safe with what people tell me on this forum. I have never met Erik, Redrhino, Salford Steve, but these people have all wished me well and I don't know them as people but their good thoughts are with me and SWC24 Steve too. I did not know Donna, the
ICR rep until I went in the office and she sorted our
transfer out. Have faith, there are still good people out there

Caution always advised

Please answer yes to the question has anyone asked you to carry something for them", this makes sure what you are carrying is OK and you will only be delayed by 20 minutes why everything is checked out, it happened to me when I was asked by my company to take an item of computer equipment as a spare from France to the UK, when I am asked now my answer is NO, courier it.
