Turkish

Hi all,
I've been to Icmeler five times now so this year I have decided I'm going to learn a bit of the language.
Last week I started a course and so far I have learnt the numbers, a few greetings and some food words. The trouble is I find the pronouncing some of the words quite hard :?
I was just wondering if any of you regular Icmelerites speak the language and do you find some of it hard going?

I dont know if its just me as my 15yr old seems to find it easier than me.

Perhaps I'm just thick :)

Its not easy! But 15 year olds dont have the same fear of saying it wrong as we do! so just go for it and dont worry! good luck

I am still saying wrong pronunciations after going to Turkey for 10 years (not Icmeler). No-one bothers they are just glad you made an effort

Sanjo

Have a look at this website: www.byki.com

You can download Turkish free here - the great thing is that you see the word and also hear it pronounced correctly by a Turkish speaker. You can also test yourself. It's quite cool.

I've been going to turkey for 12 years now and all I could ever say was hello and erm a few swear words I learnt as a kid lol. But last september/october I went there for a month and I learnt loads of new words and I still remember them now, I was back in icmeler in june and still knew how to say all my turkish words, I was so pleased with myself, hopefully when I go back in september I will learn a few more and keep practicing :D
