Captain Silver Apartments

Hi all, Can't reply to this post as its locked, but its been very intresting reading Tim Tighe's 'Captain Silver & Icmeler review' of the appartments in the 'Holiday Review' forum as we are staying there in August. I do hope, and I'm certain that admin has seen this review and has taken note on all points.
We were told recently that we had been double booked at Captain Silver's even though we booked in September 2007...........I wonder if our original room had ended up as one of the reserved rooms for the Mirage? ICR have managed to keep us at the apartments and I thank them for that, but you would think that booking that far ahead, that your room allocation would be cast in concrete!
I wonder if the Mirage have rooms reserved for double bookings at the Captain Silver?
As for the towels on sun beds at 4.30 am.........well, what more can you say.

It was not the Mirage the rooms were given to it was the Mersoy and it only happened as the Mersoy had overbooked it was a one off as the Mersoy is all inclusive,as for towels being put on sunbeds at 4.30am that didn't happen one family started putting towels on sunbeds at 7am and it all snowballed from there the staff had no part in it.

Hi Geovil, hope the sunbed thing was sorted for you. It's my pet hate The last thing anybody needs on holiday is stress about relaxing. Doz had a good idea about saying the towels had blown off beds, saw this done in Greece last year with a group of ten people who would put towels out early, show up about 11am, then go for breakast returning 2ish! One guy went and took them all off and piled them up. Said they'd blown off, but it was obvious they hadn't, the group didn't argue as the guy was very polite and carried on reading his magazine on the sunbed. The rest of us sat tight lipped in support. Was funny but shouldn't have to do that.
It's selfish and puts the hotel staff under pressure to be watching all day.

I was double booked here last year Cheriton -Booked in June 2006 for August 2007 and still told ur 2 bed apartment which we took a few months beforehand decideing upon was not available to us.

Yes ICR did manage to keep us there , but with notification to us only 2 days before we travelled , our options were limited.

I don't know if this is down to hotels having allocations in reserve or the booking system used between ICR and the captain silver.

unfortunatly it shouldn't happen when bookings and deposits are taken so far in advance.
