Things to do and See

18 May 2008 21:48

Hi Everyone

I have only visited Turkey once before when I went to Kussadasi which was a beautiful place, as I am a very fussy eater it was great because it had a burger king and starbucks coffee place so I felt right at home lol, what is icmeler like as we are thinking of either going there or Marmaris, and which do you all prefer? which is the best out of the two, that's if anyone has been to Marmaris, also can you recommend anywhere nice to stay as in appartments of all inlusive, thanks, somewhere not to pricey, and are there any fast food places.

Hi reddc Icmeler is just the very best place to be. Best of both worlds. If you want peace and quiet it has that and if you want noisy it has that too! The food is great and with so many restaurants and cuisines to choose from I am sure you will find something to suit. You will have to go into Marmaris for a Macdonalds as thank goodness there is not one in Icmeler. For the best places to stay use ICR and you will not go wrong. Just go back to the homepage or the top of this one to sort that out. Hope this has helped. :) :)

Thanks.

Hello reddc. Icmeler is the nicest resort to stay in. Marmaris is nowhere near as lovely. It has got its good points, brilliant market, lovely marina, castle, but its very commercialised, whereas Icmeler is quieter and more relaxed. There are plenty of fantastic restaurants etc and you can always jump on a dolmus or get a taxi into Marmaris for a nightclub if thats your cup of tea. The views are just stunning in Icmeler, you are surrounded by pine covered mountains, and there is (or used to be) a market on Wednesdays which sells EVERYTHING! But if you do choose Marmaris, please make sure you visit Icmeler because once you do you will want to keep coming back. Enjoy your hols when you decide :) .

Thanks Clairey,

It does sound like a beautiful place, and yes I do prefer quiet places to rowdy ones, thank you for all your help, these are good forums as you can get a lot of information before you travel, thanks once again. :)
