The best way of getting rid of mosquitoes is Listerine, the original medicinal type. The Pound shop-type works well. I was at a deck party awhile back in Spain and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little demons disappeared. The next year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing area, and the standing water nearby. During the summer, I don't leave home without it.
Hope this is of help

Hi Womble
Do you mean Listerine as in "mouth wash" as I always take some away with us anyway as we use it all the time?
Mossies dont bother me much but they seem to like my hubbys skinny ankles and shins

Get a large glass and fill with vodka and leave about an inch at the top to which you top up with tonic.
Never get bit with this medicine and I believe it is the quinine in the tonic the don't like

Well, I am a mozzie (amd midgie) magnet - I get very badly bitten even when no-one else around me does. In fact, I've still got the scars on my legs (and eyebrow) from where I got badly bitten in Spain and the bites became infected. I must admit I was a bit wary about being bitten when we visited Turkey (Icmeler) for the first time last October - but I was fine. I got one bite on my shoulder (I think it was while we were waiting at the airport for our
transfer to the resort), but one of the stallholders at the canal saw it and sprayed it with the lemon stuff for me. I never had another bite all holiday - and that one went away in no time.
