WHAT IS YOUR BEST BOAT TRIP?

31 Mar 2008 00:30

I went on a scuba diving boat trip with my son in law and my 8 year old granduaghter and 10 year old grandson.I do not swim so i got on boat for free to film kids After an hour we got to the diving area and everybody started diving. The captain gave me a fishing rod and showed me how to catch fish. I helped him to prepare the meal and serve the customers on the boat The kids got photos taken on the seabed holding fish.On the way back my 8 year grandaughter said that she enjoyed herself that day more than she did in disney land the previous year. That really made my day.

Our best boat trip was the one my hubby arranged for all our friends who were in Icmeler at the time 30 of us and what a day.We had the boat all to ourselves so the owner took us were we wanted to go,price was all inclusive, food was great, company great and weather just wonderful. What more could you ask.it was so good we are thinking of doing it all over again this year as most of us are all there again at the same time.Does ICR do private trips like ths does anyone know thanks.

We also did the diving trip, my wife even had a go and she's terrified if she cant stand up in the water, one of the turkish lads held he hand through out the dive and she enjoyed it, can't get her to go again tho she says she's done it and thats it.

Hi Lynda,John mentioned on another post that if a group of enough numbers wanted to hire and do an AI boatrip he could arrange it but I would think he would need quite a bit of priour notice.
Of course when he reads your post he will answere your question for himselfe.

Only ever been on one boat trip. Didn't like it, food was just cold tinned spagetti, and some chicken and salad. All the drinks were warm, and were cheap sp undrinkable. Can't rememeber where booked it.

If I go on one this year I will be booking it with ICR.

boat trip

We have been to Icmeler 14 times and having done all of the 'boat trips' some ok some terrible and the usual Dalyan, booze trips etc. Last year we finally decided to rent out a boat just for us (3 adults and 3 kids). A quick wander around the Marina I spotted a huge 'gin palace' but they would not rent for the day (to Brits anyway :o ).A little further on was a nice wooden gullett type which was rented for £100 - this included lunch and three bottles of reasonably tasting red / white wine as well as the usual efes and soft drinks for the kids.
All aboard at 0930. 1st stop a quiet bay until a huge tourist boat came chugging in - time to go said the captain so we went to another quiet bay and so on. Lunch was chicken in a light spicy sauce with dill and rice, even the kids liked it!!!!!! melon for the adults and ice creams for the kids nothing was too much for the captain he even left us on the boat for an hour whilst he went swimming. We returned to Marmaris marina at 1830. It was so good we booked again for the following week. 3 adults 3 children (happy) efes, good food, sun it was pimms o'clock at 3pm.
On the 2nd trip with this captain we went to a bay where, in all of my years of going to Icmeler, I have never seen so many fish and other wildlife. The captain did not put down the anchor here but tied up as not to disturb the bottom. So one can only assume it was some sort of reserve as pointed out later. He said that the big boats are not allowed in there.
I have also scuba dived many times and would always book a small boat as some of the bigger ones seem not to give you long in the water. Done some superb wall dives and have even been taken into an underwater cave..... very dark but the light at the end shining on the surface when we came up was something I shall always remember (and I'm not qualified but did know the dive instructor).
If we go back (alas not this year) we will seek out the same boat and go again, it made our holiday.

The best trip we have been on is the trip round Gokova Bay.
Pristine waters and magnificent scenery, sailing past the little mermaid,
a small sculptor just off the mainland,
calling into English Harbour were you are hidden from the outside world.
Sail onto Cleopatras Island were the white sand is supposed to come from Egypt,a present to Cleopatra from Mark Anthony to demonstrate his love for her.

This is not the route most boats do and a bus ride to the boat just outside Marmaris needs to be made.
A tranquil Day for lovers of scenery and beauty.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST BOAT TRIP?

The best boat trip we did was 2 years ago, when 6 of us hired a gulet for the day.

The bar we had booked a boat trip, cancelled, due to lack of interest, so we found the gulet, teamed up with 2 other couples and off we went. It was wonderful....the owner of the boat was a guy called Suleyman, and his partner, was an Irish girl, and they couldn't have been more acommodating... We had a wonderful lunch, beers, wine, soft drinks etc. and then mid afternoon, they brought round a huge platter of fresh fruit - just the thing for a hot afternoon.

I think the boat was called Berfin gulet, and we booked it on the corner, by the Joy Hotel (near where the dolmus terminates, and opposite Mario's)

Obviously the more people the cheaper it works out, but if I remember rightly, it worked out under £20 each and worth every penny.

certainly was! 8) We did one the year before and there must have been 100 people on the boat.....sunbeds packed in every possible crevice, and people having to climb over others to get to their sunbed..... Oh never again!!!! The boat was far too big.

We hire a local man called Musifal with this nephew. He owes a 40 seater with a toilet. He sails out with 8 of us leaving around 09.30. Coffee , cold drinks are served. Full bar-b-que cooked on the boat.Meat balls, chicken and salad with rice. Just help yourself. We visit around 4 bays for swimming and chilling. NO loud music thumbing out, just heaven. Return back around 5.30pm.We do this trip every year, and enjoy more and more each year. Total cost around £90.
