Pedicure

30 Mar 2008 15:32

where is the best place for a pedicure? Always like to treat myself when on holiday.

Dimrie has one last year, and I had a manicure, but will leave it to Dianne to direct you as I can't remember where it was

Thanks

Thanks for your quick response. I am sure most places are fine as long as you don't get talked into lots of other things while you are there.

I always get a manicure and pedicure at the Excellence hairdressers along from the Blue Rainbow, and found the girls there to be really nice.

I dont like the cheeky little beggar thats stands outside shouting at everyone he's about 2ft tall. he steers well clear of me now when I go.

When I get me hair done I go to the one across the road from Waterfall, sorry forgot the name which is terrible as I go there every year. I really like how they cut hair.

best place i had a pedicure was Figaro's just near the Tansas but i'm not sure whether the girl is still there or not

There's a salon under the Black Sea restaurant. Very good for manicure and pedicure - would use again.

just make it clear what you want before you go in, otherwise they will cover you in lotions and potions and clip, snip and grip everything you have and charge you the earth! The lads down from dreamboys are terrible for this, all charm!

...... especially if you go to have your eyebrows threaded (which is great by the way) - you could come out of the salon totally devoid of any facial hair.... it's a form of torture, not to be recommended

I know exactly what you mean about the eyebrow threading. I get mine threaded at home which is wonderful, but they look like they would leave you with no eyebrows... that's if they managed to catch me. A few times I have been in salon's they will come at you with thread even though mine have been done one or two days before at home and look fine. It's a bit scary!!!! Usually a polite no works though.

That happened to me didnt know I had facial hair until they had plucked it all out I can still feel the pain now :(

Lynn

I think the guy putting me through the torture learned a whole new lot of English swear words :?
I had nightmares about waking up one day with designer stubble all over my face (which thankfully didn't happen!) Never again!

pedicure

My hubby went for a haircut and they said did he want his eyebrows tidied at the same time. He though they were going to trim them, but boy was he mistaken....... they threaded them, and he suffered pain never known before  He was still in agony about 2 hours later, so I think he will be giving the hairdressers a wide berth this year. Hehehehehe

Mad other half here, reading your messages brings back nightmares from last year. I decided to have my hair coloured as the pool water had stripped the dry from my roots, went to one of the hairdressers on the canal. I made it clear that I only wanted my roots done NOTHING ELSE. Did that work oh no I ended up with a full hair dye ( only colour they had was red) my eyebrows and corners of my upper lip threaded he even wanted to take the fine facial hairs but I put my foot down on that. The best thing to do is find someone the day before agree a price for what you want done and only take that money with you, hand the cash over before they start so there is no confusion. Thats what I will be doing from now on.

My god, mads other half and jivebunny   !!! You make it sound like torture!! I am glad you warned about the threading as I would have considered having my eyebrows done. Think I'll just stick to tweezers and the odd wax   , Thanks

Hi Natajack

Eyebrows are not to bad, its when they start doing facial hair and moustache  it would bring tears to a glass eye :o

07 Apr 2008 19:26

Lynn is right, the eyebrow threading is fine - virtually paineless with good lasting results, in fact I'm considering having mine done when I'm there in May (it stops at the eyebrows though)... I would recommend it.

Just make it perfectly clear you do not want ANY other facial hair threaded away, the memories still make my eyes water!
