usa dollaras to lira

17 Mar 2008 15:36

here a question someone may be able to answer if the dollar is so weak againts the pound than can we purchase dollars at nearly two to one then buy turkish lira with the dollars would that work out in profit some done it in bulgeria one year and they made money

Todays rates

1 USD = 1.99 YTL

1 GBP = 2.53 YTL

1 GBP = 2.00 USD

So theoretically you could change a quid into 2 dollars and at the exchange rate today get 3.98 Lira to the pound!

Good Call...providing they accept dollars!

17 Mar 2008 15:54

Todays rates
2 US Dollars = £1
1 US Dollar = 1.26 YTL
£1 = 2.54 YTL

So you see there is not a lot of benefit in converting £s to Dollars.

I think what fanny is getting at, is that Musstaffa is a common name in turkey, abit like smith and jones in the country so there could be a few with a similar name.

I could be wrong just a guess...lol

Ha ha, Steve you are TOO kind

Apologies Womble, blonde's a lifestyle for me & not just a hair colour

Yeah Marks and Spencers, yeah they have an exchange place in there well they do in Manchester anyway. or you can do it on-line and get same rates order over £500 aand get free home delivery. There rates are steadilly creeping up think it was 2.41 yesterday as I walk past every day on my lunch break always check in the window at the rates board.

19 Mar 2008 21:04

cheers for the tip Steve
we usually find we get a better rate in resort and I can't be bothered traipsing around either on shanks' pony or the web before I go - have enough to do ha ha
