We arrived home on Saturday morning after another enjoyable week in Icmeler. Now it is back to work.
Our flight out on the 18th was diverted to Bodrum because of the very high winds, which got worse throughout the day. On Saturday night we had the most horrendous winds, almost hurricane level, chairs were flying across the road, and the roof of the
hotel next to our apartment ended up on the floor near the pool.
Although the weather was not good enough for sitting on the beach or near the pool for the first few days, we spent the time walking and meeting up with old friends, and taking in the changes that have taken place in
Icmeler over the winter months. We even did the walk to Marmaris. I’ve got the blisters to prove it!!!!!
We had excellent meals in Love Boat (who have gone computerised), Champagne, Lighthouse and Bonjour Restaurants. Bonjour has been taken over this year by Charley and King Solomon, formerly of Lighthouse, the meal was excellent and I hope they have a good season.
We also spent time at Havana Bar, and had a great time with ZaZa and the rest of the boys there, also had a great welcome from Vince and his staff.
It is very quiet in the resort at the moment, but as it is early in the season it should pick up as the time goes along. Police have been clamping down on the ‘hassle’ with several bars being given warnings, one restaurant was closing on Saturday for three days because one of the boys was seen shaking the hand of a previous customer. This surprised us as the front man from Heat & Breeze was almost following us down the road to try and get us in the restaurant there!!!
We had no problems going through
Dalaman airport, although several people were over the 20kg allowance and we being charged £6 per kilo.
I hope all of you going over the next few weeks have a fantastic time and enjoy yourselves as much as we did. Mags
