my best tip is putting a few drops of lemon grass oil in your suntan lotion and aftersun, it is guaranteed to keep the mozzies away

Natural Yogurt for sunburn is very good "honest" I got badly burnt one year and a lady in a supermarket put yogurt on me the next day it did'nt sting at all.

For some strange reason Avons Skin so soft seems to keep the mozzies away, the woodland scent.

You can buy these mosquito - repellent wrist band thingies - I bought my Mum some for Mother's Day as the mosquitoes absolutely love her! She comes up in big blisters filled with I don't know what despite being on anti-histamines.

One tip for any of you who suffer like she does is to burst them with a needle and boiling water as soon as they start to fill up (this will need to be done several times as they are drained and then fill up again.) This sounds disgusting, I know - I have to seek refuge on the balcony every time I hear the travel kettle boiling up, but it does prevent them from becoming tennis balls wobbling on each ankle, as she has experienced in the past. (I kid you not)

Black and White Stripes - are you my child? Sounds just like me. Actually tried the Avon Skin So Soft last year and although I did get bitten they did not turn into whopping big boil type blisters so it must have done something for me.

Not that I know of, but I shall have to check with my Mum!

Well as you suffer in the same was as my Mum (well I think she's my Mum!) does, then I will tell her about that stuff. I just thought that it would be a bit of advice coming from somebody who gets tiny pin pricks when they are bitten, therefore wouldn't work for her!

Skin so Soft is on offer just now on Avon website buy one get one free

Anyone moving to Icmeler might like to know that the lady (NUR) who runs the shop at the top of the canal, just past the Adler Aparts in the Old Town, is an Avon Lady. She also has items in stock so you don't have to wait for an order to arrive!

I especially went to her for make-up as it goes off so quickly in the heat, and most Turkish products leave a lot to be desired!

My best tip is to let the wife have the money purse when we go out for a meal and drinks, that way she has all the hassle at the end of the evening asking for the bill and sorting out the money and leaving a tip.

The same purse is taken off the wife when we walk round the market and shops.
No reason for this I may add, because she can buy anything she wants,
she only has to ask.

Hi.......

Before we go on holiday we always take Vitamin B tablets about one month before we travel. One week before we fly out we take one antihistamine tablet once a day and one a day while we are on holiday. It seems to stop the mozzies from biting us.
A word of warning though, when you take the Vit B you Pee (glow in the dark green), so don't panic

Hope this helps

Love Me :)

Hi

Avon so soft is amazing it really does stop the bites!
Also we tend to buy the lemon fragrance spray which is sold at the market & most shops. Can't remember exactly what it is called, sure someone will remmber but that worked for us too.

lemon balm, also makes a great after shave lotoin but be warned fellas it doe's tenk to sting a bit, but it doe's also keep the mossies at bay. Thats another good reason to take the misses as the mossies love her and leave me alone.

25 Apr 2007 19:38

lemon balm is brilliant. The mossies seem to love my son but he uses this now and he hardly gets bitten at all.
