Building Site

23 Apr 2007 00:12

Hi

We are due to be staying at the apartments that are at the back of the Taj Mahal and we have just read a post saying that the Taj has been pulled down!!! We are now worried that it will be a building site when we get there in July!! Dont know what to do, do we just go for it and hope for the best or do we try and find other accomodation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :o

Hiya Im not sure about your apartments but I do know that Turkish laws say there is to be no building work during the summer season. Someone correct me if Im wrong but im sure this is from May to September.

Hi DIANEC, Just to put your mind at rest, we were in Icmeler last week, we traveled out on the 6th April and you are correct TAJ MAHAL is gone and it was just clear ground by the time we came back last friday there was a new building on the site and it was very nearly finished so by the time you go it will be complete, don't know what it is going to be though, seems to be a lot of estate agents springing up though.

Hi sue, it may well open up again as the building on it now looks much the same sort of style to the old one.

Heard somewhere that the Taj had moved to Marmaris. :?:

Hi Mickoo, always been a taj in marmaris, we went in a couple of times in 2000 when we had our holiday in marmaris. I might be wrong but someone once told me if you went to the taj in icmeler that your meal was sent from marmaris as the taj in icmeler did not have a kitchen but i don't know if this is true or not.
