excel airways

I booked flights from exeter to dalaman with excel last august for july this year. A month or two later I noticed that exeter to dalaman was no longer mentioned on their web site. I then e mailed them asking for confirmation that my flight was still on, the answer was "yes, our web site was being updated". In december I sent another e mail with the same reply, this time with a written confirmation.
Yesterday I phoned excel and was told they don't fly from Exeter anymore, I asked why I had not been informed, and was told they would have done "eventually". all,s not bad though, i,ve now got a cheaper flight from exeter with onur air. Anyone else thought they were flying from exeter?
