Sun Village is lovely - small, friendly family-run complex - staff are lovely and helpful but not at all pushy. Nice quiet location in the old village too.

Just along from the Wembley Bar.
We stayed last year. There was a lot of road noise I thought.

We stayed at Sun Village in May, the apartments are the best i have stayed in, in the 15 years i have been going, The staff are fantastic, anything you want they are happy to help, there is no hard sell for food and drinks, i found the apartments very relaxing and peaceful, I have already booked to go may and september 2014

nothing worse if they hassle you to eat and drink their sounds good

As I stayed there after an operation in September I would like to say I did not notice any sound at all from the road and I stayed in rooms 102 and 103 though I did not sleep with the windows open as it was cooling down then but I did sit on the balcony a lot and never noticed

Can't say we noticed any road noise either - you do hear the call to prayer from the mosque, which is just up the road, but I like that anyway as it's all part of the Turkish atmosphere. We found it a lovely quiet area to stay - very relaxing.

Maybe we were just unlucky the weeks we went. Most of the noise was during the day when sat round the pool.
It was coming from this place
http://postimg.org/image/4xetkzlmx/ just at the back. And it was made by these
http://postimg.org/image/68m0yoix1/running up and down most of the day.
I agree with everything else about the place.

Ah now I understand what the noise was
They were still block paving the road just above the other bridge a bit higher up so could not use that bridge and the only way they could get there was to use the bridge outside the Sun Village
I was wondering what you meant about the road noise and now I know
Actually the only noise I do remember is maybe the odd large coach going past and the hiss from the brakes
Also Mama shouting people to come and get their breakfasts

Thats what one of the most important issues for me at a complex, Sun Village ask you if you want to join in a special night etc and if you decline they dont ask you again, there is no pressure there. When i was there in May i felt so at home, it was like being in one big family

bit of noise wont bother us

Sun Village is lovely. Really enjoyed our stay there. Mama and her family are very welcoming and will do everything they can to make your stay happy and relaxed. We mentioned we like Turkish lentil soup and Mama made it for us. We also had samples of what she was cooking for the family. It's about a 15 min stroll to the beach or you can get a dolmus just outside.

Yes definitely recommend the Sun Village, nice small complex, Mama and Jamie will look after you, we didn't notice any noise either from the road. We are booked again next year for 13 nights after a couple of days in Istanbul.
Drinks and food reasonable priced, Aircon last year was £60 for two weeks and the safe was £20.
Walk to the main drag in town is about 10 minutes, we enjoy the walk back at the end of the night.
Go for the Sun Village you won't regret it.

I always walk past the sun village and must admit always think about staying there if I don't stay at Rhodes Apartments. I've also thought about Ekinci Palace too. They both look like the kind of places I might like.

We stayed at the Rhodes in October following peoples recommendations on this forum, we like both, we have already booked Sun Village again for 2014 but would not have any hesitation staying at either.
People I have spoken to regarding the Ekinci said there was an issue with Sun Beds as there were not enough, but is does look nice when walking past.

I can recommend sun village as I was there end of September beginning of October last year. Nice friendly apartments and you get to know the other guests around the pool. Didn't notice any noise from the road and the wee supermarket right outside the apartments was doing a really good exchange rate. Only slight problem I had was no bracket on the wall to hold the shower head (room 104) but that'll probably be sorted by new season. Met some great people there, Sandybeach, Deb, Jennifer and a big Scouse fella with a gammy knee

. Mama (with Sandy's help) also made me a huge sandwich for the airport which if I'd bought at
Dalaman I would've had to have taken out a Wonga pay day loan.
