Guys

we where bought a Turkish Eye this year by friends.

Where is the best place in the house to put this to bring good luck?

We have ours in the car! Hopefully it will keep the reckless drivers away.

I would say by the front door, so as to keep 'evil spirits' away ..... Plus guests can see it

We have a sun room next to the conservatory where many different little momentos and souvenirs are stored and displayed.

Lovely to sit in there and remember sunnier days when it's winter time!

I also have mine by the front door, and back door, and hall, and gazebo :-) I just can't seem to stop buying them. I got stopped at Dalaman one year as it showed up in the x ray machine. They all laughed when they seen what it was.

We've got a few too in various places around the house - but yes, at the front door is a good place...

When we visited Bodrum and Gumbet there were lots these embedded into the paths and walls but have never seen this in Icmeler.

when my youngest son (now 11) was about 14 month old we went to Marmaris on holiday. We were having a stroll around and a shop owner came out and made such a big fuss over him - we had getting used to this during the few days that we had been there, but this was the first time someone told us the reason why. It was because he had very bolnde hair and BLUE EYES, he then explained to us that they believe blue eyes bring luck. His shop was called blue eyes :) This has always stuck in my mind and every time we go to Turkey we always come back with something with the Turkish eye on.
I would say next to the front door as well

We were told that too, daisysun - my son is also blonde and blue-eyed, like myself. Didn't realise it was such a novelty...mind you, he's now 18 and out serving in Afghanistan at the moment, and apparently, a blonde, blue-eyed Scots lad is quite an attraction there too!

Its funny isn't it. We didn't really like it to start off with and found it a bit invading as these people we didn't know would come and get him out of the pushchair awake or asleep! or come and pinch his cheeks and it was obviously the blonde hair that attracted them then more so once they saw the blue eyes. Obviously in Turkey and Afghanistan, where the majority of people have dark hair and eyes it is quite a novelty/rare.
