I have watching our flight prices for 6 sept we paid £298 each for them inc baggage, chose seat etc, had a look on sunday they were £374 each had a look today they are £574 each, whats all that about then?

It's probably the reason why the resort is quiet this year, flight prices have been going through the roof.
Tis the reason we've not been this year, as we just can't justify £1,100 JUST for flights!

Depending on were your flying from there are still some great offers out there.
I have been looking on Monarch for flights out on 28th August from East Midland to 11th September to Dalaman.

Price £431 for 2 people including 20k of hold luggage,the price has gone up by £15 per person since yesterday because it is now classed as a late booking,so last night it was only £401.
TC are £100 more than this but still a good price.

Flights for 2 people from EMA to Dalaman 4th September to 18th September including 20k hold luggage £501 =£250.50 each still a very good price

June and July (especially July) this year were very bad for the big operators as bookings were down due to the good weather in the UK so they simply now put up the prices to claw money back

I would not be a very good businessman. Surely if demand has dropped off for flights for whatever reason( good weather in UK etc), then prices should fall, even temporarily, to entice customers back.It is like the pub situation in the UK, pubs are closing on a daily basis so the prices go up! Madness. In my area Weatherspoons have kept prices low and are thriving. I know airlines run on fine margins, but some common sense is needed!

I thought the airlines, put the prices up as they fill the plane??? surely makes more sense

They did drop the prices in June and July to entice people to book holidays but it never worked as weather in UK was nice

Now they have put the September prices up knowing that people will come anyway as every September is the same, the mature travellers come without children and that is where the money is now as they don't have kids to take out of school or drag along with them.

And also the fact that Easyjet have tied in with TC at Edinburgh which meant when the flights were 1st released the prices were artificially inflated and have only went up and up to silly levels now.

We booked 10 flights with Monarch prebooked seats and full luggage last year total cost £2670 looked today at the same flights without prebooked seats and full luggage £5270 WHY.

i booked flights for me and a friend for next june. paid roughly £250, thats with pre booked seats, meals ect, and now those flights have gone up by almost £300!! i guess its pays to book them early....

We paid £606 (incl bags) in April for our flights on 5 Sept, 2 people. Just checked there and they are now £782

we booked my flight in june for the 1st sept and it was £296, checked last week and it was £377, just checked today and its down to £359 today, strange that its gone up and back down again? x

Our inbound flight is normally half the outbound flight (a few years ago it was the other way round). For next year they've upped the inbound flight to be the same as the outbound so we've only booked the outbound flight with fingers crossed that they'll drop their prices. If people don't book the higher prices then they'll have to bring the prices down.

check the same flights again and they have gone back down by £200 ! what are these companies playing at

The airlines know that if they have inbound bookings people have to return so they have control on prices whenever you decide to book .Its all pot luck whether cheaper deals are available when you want to travel,also there is much less choice of airlines flying to Turkey these days .
