Dog Food

Does anyone know of a pet shop in Icmeler, or anywhere I can buy a big bag of dog food to take to the dog shelter when I come over? They're pretty desperate at the moment. There's an online site which delivers, but it's in turkish and my turkish isn't up to it unfortunately. I know of a couple of pet shops in Marmaris, but I don't remember seeing one in Icmeler.

marmaris is the best bet for that but now and then, Migros or Tansas has an offer on and I know everyone gets it then

Why don't you just make a donation to the dogs home through the Paypal link Jan set up

She is as honest as they day is long and would definitely use it to buy food

They love the animals they look after and every day there seems to be more

A lot of those cute little puppies they use outside bars to make you stop and pet them and then entice you in, are then kicked out and end up at the home when they are no longer cuddly

I do send donations via the PayPal account but just thought I'd buy the food direct as an extra, but looks like that's going to be a problem. If anyone can spare a couple of pounds, please help. Their funding from the council is almost none existent and the dogs just keep coming. The address to donate is on the Icmeler Animal Welfare site on Facebook. Not sure if I can post the link. Maybe J T would post it.
As J T says, a lot are probably the cute puppies from the bars last year. There will be more to take their place this year. Please avoid bars that use animals as an attraction. At the end of the season these animals are dumped without a second's thought. No one wants them when there are no tourists to entice into the bar.

The weird thing though is, even though its based in Icmeler I have never seen strange dogs walkingt round the town that get lifted and taken there

Most I think are dumped outside so really the shelters own generosity and its fame are its own downfall
