Cummo's review locked??

Just wondering why Cummo's review of the Senem's been locked?
Apols if this isn't the right place to start a new post, but Senem usually gets rave reviews and JT or Rami usually put a comment on before they lock a thread/post?

Every single review in the review forum is locked, always has been and always will be

If people want to comment on a place as in to start a discussion, ask questions then they can do so in the guestbook section under that places page

if there isn't a page for a certain place then feel free to start one

Cummo - have to say your review was a shocker as Senem usually get great reviews....
Hope it didn't enjoy your hol and for others who are going, that it was just a blip
How was the rest of your hol? Any chance of you putting a review of that on pls?

I think it must have been a blip as friends of mine have been going this year and they still rave about the place being fantastic, and has fantastic reviews on other forums, yeah any chance of a review please

The review i posted was a true reflection of the time we spent at Senem.

We spoke to a family of 10 who felt the same
We spoke to a family of 8 who felt the same
And we spoke to various other couples who felt the same.

All felt that the apts were too small and not properly cleaned, and also felt that they were getting the cold shoulder.

I did tell the head barman on day 2 (after he kept enquiring as to where we were eating tonight, and would we be booking the customary bbq) that the temperature was too hot (50+ degrees) to plan our meals, and that we preferred to follow our noses, and visit a few old friends...Ozzy..ZaZa...Hakan & Levent...Gulay...And the big man himself...followed by maybe a Lamb Doner Sandwich or a visit to a Lokanta or even nothing (it was so hot!!).

He realised at that point that i meant it and after that it was me who spoke first every time which was usually answered by a grunt.

Don't get me wrong, we always buy our water and toiletries from the apts, by way of giving them something. We have early evening drinks every night ( 2 gin & tonics, 1/2 Tuborg and a bottle of Strongbow ((i like snakebite)) which cost about 30ytl = £10 per night plus 2 bottles of Efes every day on returning from the beach.

So we do spend a little to help out.

It felt to us that bar takings had been down and that the staff had been told to make more. This could also explain the lack of clean bedding and towels. This is pure speculation but is how we felt.

As you see i have posted some old names, who are just a few that we met.

We had a great time and visited many places in Icmeler and also in Akyaka and Selimiye.

I will post a full review in the coming days.

Looking forward to the rest of your review Cummo and as I said earlier, such a shame that the Senem were a disappointment for you. Never stayed there personally, just know roughly where they are

Thats what I like about forums that we can all have our own opinions and can offer our views on how we find a particular bar, hotel restaurant etc. Sure Icmeler is a good place but I am certain that there are others out there who may have had a bad experience and may wish to advise others so they can then make an informed choice as to whether to go to a particular place

This forum and others have helped me on occasions decide whether to go or not to a particular place, so having them has been a godsend

Forums are useful and love reading the reviews, good or bad, I I am just surprised as the reviews have been great for 18 months, they even won an award this year, I personally went twice last year and loved it and my friends also went this year and said the same, I am going back again in six weeks and can't wait

I guess it's down to individual tastes & expectations with regards to where you stay.
We have booked with the Senem and will be there next Friday.
We expect the rooms to be hot, it's turkey, and high season.
We don't expect there to be a lot of room in a living room if the sofa beds are left down!
These comments I personally feel are down to the invidual.
You won't have much room if you leave the sofa beds down, and you can't expect rooms to be cool in the height of summer with 42 degrees + every day!
You can however expect a clean room, clean bedding etc.
I will comment more on the Senem while I'm there, but in all honesty, the Senem is on the lower end of the scale with regards to price from what we looked at, so we don't expect the Ritz Carlton!
This is in no way me having a go, I just feel from some comments/reviews I read, that people are spending £15 a night on a room and expecting 5 star!

I agree with what you say in your post and will eagerly await your comments, which we all appreciate is your opinion. I have stayed in Senem twice and I am going back in September. From what I am reading I can only say that the place must have deteriorated considerably since I was there in June and hope I am not disappointed when I return. Like Sue, I can only speak very positively of my experience at Senem and the fact I am going back for a 3rd time speaks for itself. I hope you have a great time.
