loyalty counts!!

19 Jul 2012 17:22

Hi all,
After using an airline, that shall be namelss (J** 2) twice a year, for quite a few years and amassing, and using a lot of loyalty points, we decided to browse next years prices etc on their web-site.found prices and dates that suited us.We then looked for a villa with plenty of room for 6 people. now time to put the whole package together but lo and behold, in the daily papers is a voucher for 10% off ALL bookings.Great, now time to dive in and book.
On bringing the flight prices up we were amazed to see that they had gone up more than £90-00 per person.
As the villa had already been confirmed we had to accept it. (the 10% discount softened the blow a bit)
Now today I recieved an e-mail from them telling me my excellent 09-30 Newcastle flight had be put back to a rubbish 15-30 slot and I had the option of cancelling with a full refund or rebooking for another flight which may entail a higher price. They only fly to Dalaman on a Friday in May.
We have NO choice or OPTION to change flights so we have to accept it.
LOYALTY MY A**E !!!

Is the difference more than the train fare to Leeds? I know it's not as good as getting on at your local airport but they do Monday and Friday flights from Leeds Bradford - same from Manchester too :) If you did the train to Leeds for example, you could still fly back to Newcastle.

From Newcastle for 2013 they fly
Friday’s from the 03rd May 15:10,
Monday’s from the 13th May 09:30 and
Thursday’s from the 23rd May 15:10
So presume you are going early May?

Return flight home now 22:40 was 17:00 looks like they have
bought cheaper flight slots.

I know J**2 are now showing prices including tax. Could this be the difference in the price? Previously the starting price was good but by the time tax, baggage, seats, booking fees etc. etc. were added on the price was much, much higher.
