Yes!!!!!! finally booked for 2012

We knew that this year was going to be doubtful with the current economic climate and my eldest starting University plus a couple of other factors but having performed the maths we have finally been able to book for September.

We fly out on the 12th September for 11 days, it should have been 14 but my brother has decided to get married on the 11th plus the reduced number of nights has brought us in budget.

The strange thing about this holiday is that it will be the first holiday for the wife and I without the Kids in tow, the last was in 1991, not sure how we're going to cope, could it be divorce? I hope Karen can put up with me and I don't drive her mad.

I'm looking forward to doing things on our own and being able to make choices without thinking about the children for the first time, (Don't get me wrong I love the children being on holiday with us but they are growing up). We will be able to revisit restaurants we liked but the children didn't, maybe even have the odd romantic meal, choose trips that the children didn't fancy etc etc.

So I can now finally say we only have 80 sleeps left to our 2012 holiday which sounds a lot better that the 400 days to our 2013 holiday when 11 of us are going.

Just hoping the Lira stays at a decent level and that the Efes is always served cold

Pleased for you Dave.I bet it will be a little strange holidaying without the kids.
Personally I can't wait till I can holiday without mines ,love them to bits and sooo enjoy being with them but I hanker for the day we can do what we want,as everything revolves around making them happy.
Ibet you will save a fortune too with no teens spending your hard earned cash

I reckon September is going to be rather busy! Just booked our accomodation yesterday for 10 days from 9th September. No kids for us to be bringing or leaving (well just the one that's old enough to know better and I don't think he really sees himself as a kid at 43!) so it'll just be us two again til we meet up with old friends

Might see you next year as we are back to School holidays for the youngest for another two years while in 6th form, also our firends son is only 12 so will be back with them in the school holidays for another few years.

We will be there in August with just Ben this year, Shane is going to Gumbet with his mates in 2 weeks time so it will be very strange for us. Next year we have not decided if we are going back to Icmeler or trying Croatia. Ben says he will be going with us if we go to Croatia because he has never been before but if we go back to Icmeler he will go on holiday with his friends......more than one reason to go back to Icmeler wouldn't you say

We looked at Croatia for this year but the places we looked at were beyond our budget, plus I would be miserable if it didn't compare to Icmeler as for the whole holiday I would be blaming myself for making the wrong decision.

That reminds me of our honey moon in 1989, newly wed and enjoying what newly weds enjoy in the morning , bedroom door wideopen to the rest of the apartment, it was only we finally got out of bed that we noticed that the living area had been cleaned and new bed sheets and towels were nicely folded on the chair.
