Taking the daughters pal (12) with us in May perhaps. Question is do we need a covering letter from her mother to leave the UK or indeed enter Turkey?
Thanks in advance.

Hmm good question
Ive never had to do it when my kids were smaller and brought to Turkey by friends

I didn't do it when we took my daughter's friend to Turkey with us, nor when my son went to Cyprus with his friend's family, but apparently it is something you are supposed to do in case of emergencies. Probably wouldn't do any harm to have one with you.

I would obatin a letter from the parents, it will take them 10 minutes and its begtter to be safe than sorry.

I had one for my nephews when I took them, was advised by the TO I booked with. Never needed it but was good to have it with me just in case

Never bothered when we went to Cyprus (didn't think of it) but we did when we went to Turkey. We didn't need it or use it but we had it just in case.
Doesn't have to be much just a few lines and a signature.

We took one for our son's girlfriend when she was 17,you need to
transfer parental responsibility in case of an accident or emergency, too.

Thanks everyone, we'll just take a covering letter to be on the safe side.
