hey, going for the first time next week, i got £200 in lira allready, now i changing another £400, do i A: change it here at 253tl or B; change it there and get a better rate possiably?

Hi James, I usually work on the idea that you will get a bit more out there than you do here. Obviously if the rate drops before you go that will reflect out there as well. Its a bit of a guessing game but it wont skint you and you will still have the "bestest" time. Enjoy.

For me if I was going in the next few weeks I would wait until Icmeler, if its longer its a more difficult decision.

Typically in Icmeler you will get the interbank rate -0.04 or -0.06

So today the Turkish Bank announced an interbank rate of 2.5874 for tomorrow so in Icmeler I would expect to get 2.52 - 2.54 if I changed money tomorrow.

Hi just returned from Icmeler yesterday and in the supermarket near the icr offices i got 2.56 tl every time i changed money. hope this helps!

Ive been going to icmeler for the last 8 years and aways got a better exchange rate than over here. hope it has helped
