cash or cash passport

hi all it will be my 4th time in paradise in 2 weeks . what do people recomend cash or cash passports . i have aiways took traveiiers checks in the past but these are not available in our town any more . carnt wait to get a few cold effes and a turkish cassarole down me neck

Personally for me it would be travellers cheques every time.
If your unable to get them locally you can always have them delivered to you or to the airport your leaving from!
I see so many posts where people say they are taking cash and I still dont understand why.
At least your insured against loss and theft, your not with cash!!
And with cash passports you only get the uk rate, opposed to the icmeler rate which according to the residents here is always better than the uk.

Cash passports are usually sterling so you will get the rate in resort on the day you draw it from the machine surely!??

From what I've read you get charged 2% commission(some times more) per withdrawal with cash passports.
That's what stopped me getting one myself.

I have a pre-paid card and load in sterling which you can withdraw from the hsbc atm in the square which gives sterling and because my card is a sterling one then there is no charge...so if I put 400 on it I get 400 out with no charges then can use that in Icmeler. Caxtonfx is the one I use and it is fully insured with replacement cards and cash also has a chip and pin so can also be used like a debit card. You can always load more on if needed by internet banking onto your card. Hope this helps.

Caxtonfx Global Traveller charges 2.5% if you use it as a debit card abroad.

Some debit/credit cards that don't charge any commission and use Visa or Mastercard's bank rate (almost interbank):

Halifax Clarity credit card
Santander Zero debit & credit card
Metro Bank debit card
Norwich & Peterborough debit card

You really need to check your bank's terms and conditions. Some are extortionate, some on the other hand will allow you to withdraw sterling abroad with no charge.
