Another question - this one about beer

24 May 2011 14:02

I just read on Holidaytruths that the cost of beer is about to go up to £3 a pint in Icmeler and the wine is very expensive and not very nice. When we were in Olu last year it was generally 5 lira, then on the second week one place we visit did put it up to 6 lira. How much is it in Icmeler (not that the only thing we think about is beer, but we do like to have a couple).

Many thanks

Hi sooze - I think a recent post said it was roughly about 5TL for a large Efes in most places, although some places have special offers on where it will be a bit lower. Think most people say Icmeler prices are generally a bit lower than in Olu anyway.

Yes 4 to 5 Lira in most places, although don't forget it's only 3 Lira in the Tandoori Sizzler for forum members :D

Icmeler is cheaper than other resorts and as someone said you can look around as bars have offers and some are cheaper than others for the custom, at the end of the season some try to outdo each other. It was two or three years ago in the October that the Venice bar was selling Efes at 1 lira.
Is worth going for whatever the price though. Will just have to drink less or take more money! :(

Most places are 5 lira for a large Efes. Yes the turkish wine is expensive and personally I don't think it is very nice. Loveboat have imported wines but again these are expensive and none of the makes are ones I drink here.
