Can anyone shed some light?!?

20 May 2011 15:17

Hey all,
I saw a while back on the web about a village that a lot of it is built in a White hillside, and is also in someplaces still inhabited.
I can't for the life of me remember what it was called but would love to visit it.
Does anyone have the foggiest idea what I'm on about, and also to JT, do you know and do you do an excursion there, as it looks truly breathtaking!
Thanks peeps.
Chris

Could it be Cappadocia? It is meant to be absolutely breath-taking - my father visited it years ago as a guest of the Turkish rail unions, and I would love to go some day. I'm pretty sure it's hundreds of miles - at least - away from Icmeler though.

We have actually arranged this for a few people but as it entails 4 flights to get there and back it is not the cheapest of trips though it is a lovely place.

We can arrange the full package even if you want to do say 3 days from Icmeler to break up your holiday in the sun

Saw a tv programme a few months ago with Michael Palin visiting Cappadocia and I agree, it was breath-taking.

Thanks JT, that's food for thought. Maybe we can strike a deal for when I book through yourselves to come back next year, as I have the funniest feeling, having been on this forum for the last month, we will be back next year :)

You can visit Capaddocia by coach too. from marmaris bus station. think it was around 14-16 hours, but i find (most) the buses are better than ours lol. we went for our Honeymoon - cant think of little town stayed in, but it was right next to the valley of the churches & rose valley & fairy chimneys, stayed in one of the cave hotels. gorgeous place, loads of sightseeing. we found it very cheap aswell (apart from the balloon trip, which unfort. we didnt pay for as on a budget!!). not many british were there, loads japanese, koreans, chinese, australian etc. still very authentic for food etc too. We will DEF. visit again x
