Is 15kg enough? We are going self catering but hopefully eating out most days. Just fresh fruit in apartment and the odd snack for kids. 2 adults and 2 kids aged 11 and 5. Will not be coming back with presents of buying ny items over there.
Should the allowance be enough?

I can only speak for us, but we've never had a problem keeping to the 15kg allowance. I think it probably varies a lot from person to person though - I know a lot of folk who take what seems like their entire wardrobe!

2 adults 2 kids, we've never had a problem with 15kg each. The kids bring quite a few clothes back as well. We do take scales though just to make sure, we bought digital one from ebay last year cost a fiver.

My family and I usually pay for the extra 5kg baggage just for the return trip home as we inevitably bring quite a lot home, there are many genuine looking fake designer stuff to be had. Shoppers paradise for many women!

depends if you take a of clothes or not
we cant stick to 15 its too little
depends what age your children as because its much easier with their little clothes
but im sure it will be enough if u watch what u take

I think I'd struggle if 15kg was for 2 weeks - should be ok for 1 week though?

We have invested in the new Sub Zero luggage, they are the lightest suitcases you can buy. Matalan had them on offer.

Ochlynda, they are great cases eh? I also have Sub zero case, have had it for quite a while and my mum recently got one from TJ Hughes for 50 quid for the 30" (the biggest) but we still need the extra 5kg for the return flight!

We bought holdalls from Argos which saved us three kilos each. So by being a little more careful, where we used to use 20 kg, we now only need 15kg and this includes bits and pieces that we take with us as we're self catering. We always buy our shower gel etc in Tansas which cuts the weight down quite a bit. We also take our luggage scales with us just in case.

we have the largest extra light cases, and my wife still needs 20 kg..te he.

You can always take some clothes, shoes etc in your hand luggage so giving you more capacity in your hold luggage. % kg remember in hand luggage.

If you've a bag to go around the pushchair you can put a few things in there as they don't get weighed. My daughter bought wipes in
Icmeler for her daughter but took nappies with her as she only likes Pampers nappies. Don't know the age of your baby, but you could only get Aptamil milk in Icmeler two years ago so she pre-ordered the Cow & Gate ready made cartons in the airport. If you need these you need to give the airport a weeks notice.

Just a thought also as we are taking two kids five and eleven. Especially the lukes''n, who will never have 15 kg in his case. Can you spread it out for example 20kg in the two adult cases and 10kg in the kids case. only thing I can think of kids taking is shorts, t shirts, shoes, and underwear

Thanks for that dragon, our baby will be 10 months we were thinking of pre-ordering individual cartons of aptamil from the airport as we feel this will make life easier than making up bottles, that's a good idea think we will be putting an extra bag on pram would rather spend the extra £70 in
