exchange rate

What's happening to the exchange rate? I'm sure it was over 3 to the pound last week and now it's dropped a lot.

The rate of inflation in Turkey was going up again so the government were forced to increase the interest rate. This has caused the currency to steady, hence the drop in exchange rate.

it appears to be shooting back up again. check travelex before you go but dont buy too much as you will get a better rate in Icmeler. take english notes with you and change in shops and bars. careful of fake lira though

Today 2.68 at Travelex 2.75 at Marks and Spencer.

We got 2.75 yesterday at the Post Office.

we returned home on Saturday, we were getting a rate of 2.80 to 2.95 from the supermarkets. Rate when I bought some lira before I left here was much lower. Hope this helps
