Oh My God!!
I have just packed my case.
I am on a 15kg limit and there aint a lot in the case at all.
Does anyone know if OnUrair are being strict with the baggage weights or relaxed?
Think that I'll be washing my t-shirts by a week on Saturday !!
Heaven only knows where the sports top purchases are going to be going !!
The most stressful part of the holiday is now the weight of the case. Going to the airport now is like being on a game show.
Do you make the weight??

Sorry to break the news, but Onur Air seem to be very strict with the allowances this year. Both on the outward and return journeys, we saw people being charged extra for being over the allowance.

Hya
We were in
Icmeler in May this year and on our return journey Onur air were very strict. a man in front of the queue was 1kg over and was charged £10.00. He argued with them but still had to pay. other people in the queue saw what was happening and started to weigh their luggage at a spare desk and took things out of their hold luggage into their hand luggage.

There are four of us travelling.
So does that mean that we have a combined weight of 60kg between us all or is it viewed as 15kg per case per person??
25 Jun 2010 19:53
If you present your four tickets together at the check in you will be given the combined weight equal to 60kg and do not forget to use all your hand luggage of 20kg ( 4x5kg)

Well I had a combined weight of 28kg for myself and granddaughter. I was charged 35pounds. I was told 15kg per case. And they made my pay although it really was 2kg under.

It's crap only geting 15kg allowance, this year me,hubby & baby are going but baby doesn't get any allowance

so i am thinking of paying to add the extra 5kg on even though it's £20 per person!

It's £20 per person each way so in total £40 each.

I have just recieved an email from aegean " Dear Tracy
You are unable to travel with a case weighing more than 30 kilos. So you are able to combine baggage but not all 3 in one case.
Thank you for your enquiry and for contacting Aegean Flights.
So you can combine them, Good job, i'm travelling on friday myself

Its useful to know how much you dont get, we've got 15kgs each as well, those portable luggage scales will be well used. also i'll pinch some of hubbys luggage allowance, after all he's only taking 4 pairs of shorts, 7 T shirts, 3 swimming shorts and undies so wont weigh much

LOL weakest link. My hubby said I'm not to take as many shoes this year. More like he is only taking 4 t shirts instead of 5

If any of you have a wii fit sit your empty case on it then fill with you holiday clothes it will give you a more accurate weight then those travel scales ....

i think it really depends on the person checking you in. Earlier this month two of our party were only 1.2 kilo over each and were each charged £5 at newcastle airport. a friend who travelled the day before was 6 kilos over and wasn't charged! None of us were charged at
dalaman coming back.
It's still a risk though. You can't rely on getting away with it so a bit of 'frugal' packing comes in handy. buy toiletries at Boots at the airport. it does help out a bit if you only have 15 kilos. Alos the laundrys in
Icmeler are really cheap too and it saves trying to hand wash and iron bigger items.

3 of us travelling together on 2 seperate bookings - 2 of us had to pay for 4 kgs over - our friend travelling with us booked in next and got let off with the same over weight !!!
26 Jun 2010 19:09
4 of us each with 15kilos.Just weighed the toiletries for the 4 of us for the 3 weeks

6kilos

Looks like OH will be getting them in his case

surely he won't notice

Not wanting to teach people how to suck eggs. The main bulk of weight in luggage are the cases themselves. I have just traded my trusty samsonite case for a large holdall/sports bag, the case weighs 4.5kg empty, the bag weighs less than a quarter of that, you do have to be a bit more careful with what and where you pack but I found 15 KG to be more than enough.
26 Jun 2010 20:04
Madazahatter we too have converted in the last couple of years to large holdalls in an attempt to save weight, as you said some suitcases are really heavy to start with.
26 Jun 2010 20:07
Please dont take me as a chap that makes do with 2 shirts and a pair of shorts for a fortnight. I took plenty of clothes, my fishing gear and some things for the other half, including her hairdryer. 13.5 KG.
26 Jun 2010 20:14
Thats it Madazahatter your a GUY

You guys always travel light, well my OH does infact he doesn't really cause we use the rest of his allowance
26 Jun 2010 20:51
I'm a woman, and I don't have any problems staying within the 15kgs allowance.
