Is it true that t shirts and 3 quarter shorts and ladies top are pretty cheap in Turkey. If so i may not take much clothing for my son and get some cheap tops when I get out there. Does anyone one think this is a good idea and also does anyone have any experience in this if so where or what shop the best when I get there. Im goin the 1st 2 weeks in Aug.........cheers Dave

Primark - Cheaper and better quality

Hi Dave,
T-Shirts,shorts,holiday gear for men and women can now be purchased at home cheaply Primark-Peacocks-Matalan and you can hardly see any savings on many Turkish prices.
You can source bargains in Turkey but my advise to you as a first timer is shop at home have a good look around when you get there as to what is on offer and what you fancy. There is always next time as You'll be Back.

Agree with Cath and John our clothes over here are cheaper eg Primark and Matalan
Also the Turks dont barter as much as they did 8 years ago when we first started going. Have a good look over here and check styles and prices so you know how much a non fake version is .
Daughters friend got 3 Lyle and Scott polo shirts last year from the stalls on
Icmeler canal and they were good quality got 3 for a tenner, so take some clothes and some sterling in case you see something good.
The problem i found is whereby you can sell other clothes on Ebay that youve got bored of, or grown out of, you cant (or shouldnt) sell your fakes so a lot end up at the charity shop / recycling sections

if you watch what you buy you can pick up a bargain if your prepared to haggle with the turks
some of the items are good value for money and im sure you will pick up a few items
but as others have said primark and other shops in the UK now are very good value

Morning all.
I would love to buy clothes in Turkey, but never seem to find shops that sell nice, fashionable tops for the larger top ladies. Does anyone know where I can get some from please. It would seem that if you are over a UK size 16, you have to have frumpy looking stuff (or Grandma approved clothes as my Daughter and I call it). UK size 20...you have had it!

I also noticed in S********'s the other day whilst out food shopping, that a lot of their TU selection is made in Turkey...leggings £6 a pair

Same here feefee I go all the same places as you and catalogues, we looked last year in
Icmeler and couldn't find anything, there used to be a "bigger sizes" shop by The Pop Inn, but was gone last year.

A lot of our clothes in matalan are made in turkey aswel. I never really buy clothes over there as it's too much hassle trying things on in the blistering heat and haggling the price down

would rather be by the pool with an ice cold efes

starchild I know the feeling, i cant even get shoes from turkey.
Also that shop near to pop inn had like 2 rails of clothes that I wouldnt be seen dead in and were majorly frumpy and I dont know what they think we wear, it winds me up good style lol. And yes I've seen the Rogers and Rogers and Evans clothes labels with made in Turkey.
I did get a leather jacket made to measure in Marmaris, it wasnt cheap £190 but gorgeuos soft leather. But it has survived a year of wear and not been treated with respect.

Glad that I am not on my own Bev. The bottom half is a quite normal 16, but the top half...I will say no more. Lol
