Hi hi
There's a rumour over here that the duty and taxes on alcohol are increased drastic on behalve of the turkish government. The prices would be doubled or even tripled in the near future. Is this totally nonsense or should I be prepared and take some extra euros
Hope someone can fill me in
Thanks Moon

Hi Moon,
There was a big increase last year on the tax on alchohol in Turkey hence the big increase in price.
This year do to the lower number of tourists visiting Turkey through the media and the Bird flu, the Turkish government saw fit to devalue the Lira
thats why we in Britain are now getting roundabout 285Ytl To our £ last year we got 232YTL to the £, you will also be feeling the benefit.
The point I am trying to make is I cant see the Turkish government rocking the boat with more tax increases due to the low tourist situation.
Then again I could be completeley wrong.
