Icmeler Petition

30 Apr 2010 06:57

A lot of people that go to Icmeler for the well earned break would like to see the midnight curfew on music in bars lifted for an hour or so, if you are one of these people signing the petition below may or may not have some effect on the council to do this.

The petition will be handed over to the council in due course.

why try to fix something that is clearly not broken.surely this is one of the main attractions of icemeler, we and many friends we have met over the years have always had great times without music going on till one and two in the morning, if you want music after 12 o,clock theres always marmaris. having a drink till the early hours of the morning is no problem even if the music is down very low. leave icemeler as it is, i like many others love it the way it is. thats why we go.

Icmeler is perfect the way it is you can still drink yourself silly if you wish and miss half the next day that is up to the people themselfs if it aint broke dont try to fix

I agree with Ken but not wishing to be a kill joy could accept longer music hours in a selected zone similar to Bar Street in Marmaris The petition is worded All Bars,as a lot of bars are joined to Hotels or even sited in residential areas, the new Marni er could be put to some use rather than being idle.

well if such petition is presented to the council, then they probably would not allow the same closing hours, music hours for all the bars but at least they would realise the urgent need for a place for those holidaymakers who wish to stay in a restaurant or a bar until 2am during their holidays.

Also, there is another issue here which is the poor service and goods and the hassle received from the restaurants and bars in icmeler. This is primarily due to lack of enough business to cover their costs. Just when they have few customers in, they have the council team and police going up and down the street making sure they shut the music off and send customers off to their hotels.

These people only ave 4 to 6 months in a year to earn a living. and maybe only 4 hours a day where they can actually make money. So, we should maybe change the angle slightly to see what is broken or not??

Your point of having a designated area is a very good idea and this was the plan back in the years therefore the council needs to realise that there is now a need for this sort of arrangement.

There are holidaymakers who dont want to go to their hotels at 12:00. If there are restaurants that let you stay in their premises till early ours, then obviously these places are taking chances of being closed down and with the recet council, they will get shut down. As it stands right now, music off at 12:00, last call at 01:00am and customers must be off the premises by 2:00am

Pushing the music till 1:00am would make last call at 2:00 and that is optimal in my opinion for both types of holidaymakers, for those who want to have a good sleep and spend quality time in the day and for those who like to unwind for a little extra time.

Marmaris option is not a realistic option. Besides, over the years, Icmeler has already lost enough business to Marmaris.

Totally agree with Ken on this one. There are nightclubs which cater for 'after hours' revellers, and I think it should remain at midnight for the music to be turned down. Marmaris is 10 minutes away if you want late night, non stop music and drinking. LEAVE ICMELER AS IT IS PLEASE

Re: Icmeler Petition

Oh dear, I can't beleive they will have to make you leave their premises at 2.00 o'clock! That is ridiculous. It's bad enough in England!
Many times I have sat in those bars till 4 o'clock, even 5'oclock sometimes. Although there is no music on, we have enjoyed chatting and drinking until the early hours. I can imagine they will lose a lot of money through these new rules, after all we probably get through a lot of drink in these hours.

Even though I sit up till four or five, it doesn't mean I am in bed all day long. Infact I'm up by 9.00am and off to the beach where I might have a nap & I normally have a nap back at the apartment for an hour before I go out for the evening. I really think the council have taken this too far now, the guys rely on this income. I don't think extending the music until 1.00am would ruin Icmeler at all. Those who like the quieter bars will drink there and those who want to party all night will go to Pleasure/Eastenders or head off to Marmaris.

I think that the music in bars should go off until 1 am because most bars /restaurants are still serving food until 10pm and don't actually start any entertainment until then and most people don't start drinking until an hour after they have eaten so every body just gets in the mood and the music is off. This must be very frustrating for bar owners as this is when they would make most of their money. This can only be good for the resort as I have heard so many people say that this is the only downside. When you work all year who wants to go to bed at midnight? The mayor should give it a trial anyway. If not I think it will be last orders for a lot of bars that are struggling to make a living. :( :(

Re: Icmeler Petition

I think they should have music on until 1am and then wind down until 2am..
this would make the resort a better place i think as it can be frsutrating when everythign shuts down at 12 ...

so i vote for keeping music on until 1 which is not too late at all, even for those who prefer to be sleeping !

Sorry Rami I realise and agree it would be improbable to be passed if passed for All Bars but I could not put my name against the petition that stated ALL Bars...

Re: Icmeler Petition

30 Apr 2010 09:58

midnight is ok ,it has to cater for children, and retired people. lets give and take, and not be to selfish. i did here from a good source last year, in time the loud music bars ,will be on the beach front and along the pier area ,so the music sound ,will not effect the town as much, but the mayor has said this will take a few seasons, but thats his plans. This June will be my first time in Icmeler.
Can I just confirm that in all bars etc. the rule is music off by 24:00, last orders 01:00, off the premises by 02:00.

If so it won't be a problem for us, we'll just have to head out to dinner a bit earlier than we do in later resorts.

Re: Icmeler Petition

30 Apr 2010 11:36

hi hector loud / noisy music off by midnight , but they will serve you drink in most places,as long as you sit there. BILL

Re: Icmeler Petition

Why is there a need for music after midnight, if holiday makers can still drink in bars until there are no more customers.

You don't need music in bars to enjoy yourself.

Re: Icmeler Petition

30 Apr 2010 11:59

I agree with Ken . That what we like about Icmeler .

Re: Icmeler Petition

30 Apr 2010 12:06

1am isn't exactly late though for music, that is still caterin for retierd people and children.

I believe it would make for a better atmosphere....
if it stays the same it's not the end of the world, but keeping it on untill 1 am is a good idea.

Re: Icmeler Petition

30 Apr 2010 12:39

i do think its the everything in moderation scenario.
12am has always seemed to early, 1am is better. i didnt realise it was everyone one out at 1am officially. #Thinking of the times i've been sat in Vinces or Richards Place till gone then and the girls last year didnt come in till 4 or 5 am and still up and at the beach or pool by 11am ish.

Often when going back to hotel or whereever you stay up having a drink or cuppa for a while before going to bed, i used to like watching the goings on, or even the most obvious waiters outside keeping lookout for the police and whistles and everything going deathly quiet was quite funny. Especially on the main road when staying at vinces .

Although i can remember 2 years ago when the turkish club reopened next to elvis bar and it was awful. they[d opened the windows and the noise was awful and it went on till 4am ish, i remember Vince even going over to tell them to turn it down. The police didnt do much.

Maybe they should have a decibel meter lol.

i will sign the petiton as it could ruin Icmeler in the future.

Bev

I think everything is ok in moderation so having music until 1 am is fine by me.To close off music in a holiday resort
at midnight is a bit early ,when people go on holiday they want to enjoy themselves and dont want too many rules and regulations we have enough of that at home.
Not everyone will want to stay out to the early hours but if you fancy staying out you should have the choice and i think bars and restaurants should be able to stay open if they have customers and not have to close at a certain time

Re: Icmeler Petition

30 Apr 2010 16:07

i think the music should stay on as long as its not played loudly and people can just hear it in the background
the people that want loud music can go to the clubs as they are open til 4am
as long as the music isnt disurbing people that want to sleep then i dont think there should be a problem

Re: Icmeler Petition

One of the main reasons I go to Icmeler is the fact that that the muisc goes off a midnight. i dont know if its because i am getting to a certain age, and Im not even old honest, but loud muisc really does my head in. I remember last year walking past the corner at the Alinda Hotel and the four bars, one on each corner were having what seemed like a competition to see who could play music the loudest. I know it was before 12 oclock but my god what a noise.

Music off at midnight for me and many families is a great thing, you can still drink and talk hear yourself think until the wee small hours. if the music was to go on longer I can see Icmeler turning into just another holiday resort with drunken louts on all corners and the problems that creates.

Sorry guys cant sign this petition
