I love it in September / October. Everywhere is still open, although a few places might be preparing to close for the winter from the second week in October.

Its a nice time to sit with the waiters, whilst they are not as busy as in peak season. Weather is still warm, although you might need a cardigan in the evening, maybe a brolly for the ocassional thunderstorm too.

All the same trips are running as in the peak season.

I am going at the end of this month, but booked for Oct 3rd for 2 weeks as well.

We went in the last/second last week of October last year, and it was great. Maybe we were lucky with the weather, but it was really hot and sunny virtually every day. Some places were closing, and the day before we left, a lot of the stalls along the canal were having closing sales and so on. Plenty bargains to be had though!
