When we were in Icmeler last year we were looking for some presents to take home and I saw a top I thought my daughter would like, so I asked the guy in the shop if he had it in a larger size. He went off to the back of his shop and looked but came back and said he didn't have the size I needed but if we liked to wait he knew where he could get one.

He asked us to mind the shop, jumped on his bike and cycled off - where to we didn't have a clue, but he was gone for about 10 minutes or so, while we had access to all his stock and the till.

When he came back, he had brought the top I had wanted to buy. Hows that for trust........cant see that happening in this country!

Hi
We had the same thing last time we were there. There a guy that owns a shop that chnges our travelers cheques and nearly every time we go he toddles off to the bank leaving us to mind the shop. Also one peticular night he showed me a watch i really liked but it was late on and we did n`t have much money on us so he says "No problem ,pay me tomorrow" i could n`t believe people could be so trusting.I took the watch but i was so paranoid about forgetting to pay him i went straight back to the hotel to get him the cash.FANTASTIC BLOKE. Like you say stuff like that would never happen here.

I've bought jewellery a couple of times now and been able to send the money over when we got home. I cant believe how trusting people are.

I never take my credit card with me as I could'nt trust myself not to max it out

I know its amazing how well they trust you...
Last year..my brother was buying an engagement ring for his girlfriend,we always go to a jewellers in the bazaa in Marmaris for our jewellery.
Whilst there must have had about 5/6 rings out (some were over £1,0000)..then the electricty all went out in the bazaa,ie all his cctv cameras too.He asked us to mind his shop whilst he went to sort something out...was gone about 15mins
So we're all stood in the shop with rings everywhere and just couldnt believe how trusting he was!

last year me and my girlfriend seen a quite expensive diamond ring in icmeler.as we planned on getting engaged around that time i decided that i would buy it and propose.
when i sneeked back on my own the next day to buy it i had trouble with my mastercard pin number.the jeweller said not to worry and that if i gave him the money that i had(which was about half the value of the ring) it would be fine to send him the rest of the money after the holiday when i got home.
i managed to sort my card out before the end of the holiday anyway but would this have happened at home? i dont think so.
will go back to see the jeweller again this year and have a drink with him.top bloke.
also got the ring valued when we got home and it was valued at well more than we payed for it which is a bonus.

About 5 years ago we had a similer experiance on a jeep safari, we were up at the water falls and i saw something on one of the stalls i wanted, but we were advise not to take to much money with us because as we all know you get soaked, any way the stall holder asked me for the name of the hotel and our room number and said he would come to the hotel that night. Well we agreed thinking he would bring the goods with him but no he puts the good in a bag and says he will see me that night for the money, he did not even take a deposit. And he was there spot on arranged time.
