If i am taking it I buy it frozen leave in freezer til last minute. I then wrap it in plenty of plastic bags but an ice block top and bottom and barring long delays its fine when you get there works well with cheese and butter
as well. Another way is to buy the plastic boxes with a freezer block in the lid, you can get them from Matalan. I take tea and coffee anything else Tansas
in Icmeler or Migros in Marmaris will have it.

taking food when self catering

The best way I have found to take bacon, is to buy it vacuum packed as I don't buy this to use myself I have always told my friend to freeze what she doesn't need straight away. I normally buy this in a place called Macs Meat which is local to me but they are a large meat outlet and am sure that there must be similar around the country.

When we went last year we took loads of things, bacon & cheese & sausage i think. All of which we kept cool in a cooler bag packed inside our cases with lots of ice packs. When we got to Icmeler we just put everything straight into the fridge.

We also took cereal, super noodles, pringles, hot chocolate sachets, chocolate bars. Most of the stuff didn't get eaten (except the chocolate)

I won't be bothering to take anything this year as we're going bed and breakfast so won't need to think of things for breakfast, and also i don't want to make my cases too heavy.

I think the only thing I will take is my earl grey teabags as Im sure they might prove hard to find! I was contemplating taking bacon and sausage but dont fancy taking a cool bag etc and im sure we can live without for a fortnight, we will just have to have pancakes for breakfast covered in chocolate sauce instead hehe!

Alison you can get breakfast out it's usually bout £1.50 a go :D

some days when we went self catering we just used to get a fresh loaf from Tansas and some honey or jam from the apartment kitchens or some water melon and eat that :D

Some people I have noticed have a brunch, around midday and have a English Breakfast to cover brekkie and lunch :D

There is a bakers just up the side of Tansas, but I always go to Tansas for mine

There were a couple of places advertising English bacon and sausage last year as well :D

I have the bread and boiled eggs as we go in a hotel so that's my brekkie :D
