Of all the years I have been going to Icmeler I have never tried a turkish bath probably because i am tickleish and also i get the impression you get thrown across a slab, can anyone tell me what really happens and where i can get one in Icmeler

We use the Mersoy Exclusive for Turkish baths and that is just off the main road from The Mersy Hotel in the same street as Heatn Breeze and ther popular bars and restaurants

Hi Sue Sharon is right the Mersoy Exclusive Hotel is the place to have a Turkish Bath and finish off with a massage ......its Lush!

You wear your swimwear into a beautiful marble room with heated area's that you lie on, they then 'rub' you all over with a glove to exfoliate your skin ( so have it when you arrive before you sunbathe). It doesn't hurt !!Your then coverd with warm foam which is soooo chilling!
You turn over and have the same done all over again, before your taken over to another area where the bubbles are rinsed off leaving your skin feeling very soft. They like to take a photo when your coverd in foam but this is optional to purchase at the end, and they are not offended if you refuse.

Finish off by treating yourself to a massage (extra cost) which is wonderful and well worth every penny.or Lira

It's basically just a really, really good exfoliation!!!

I had one a couple of years ago on a really fancy hotel near the sea, cant remember the name of it, was in with my husband, my bro and his fiancee Janine (Hi J)

It is fun and there are loads of bubbles flying arount, only thing i will say - dont get one if you are wearing fake tan - it takes it all off and the brown (tan water) runs down the marble

Your whole family can go the same time as you and we do the turkish bath for £10 including the oil massage. Heres a write up ive just done on turkish baths

What happens in a Hamam"? Well, the ritual is simple. An attendant leads you into the Soðukluk (cold room) where you adjust to the heat. Next, wearing only a Peþtemal (a large striped or checked towel fringed at both ends and wrapped around the chest, you pass through a wooden door and reach the core Sýcaklýk or Hararet (hot room). Then your attendant will pour hot water on you and then begin to scrub every square inch of your body. Basically, every millimeter of dead and dirty skin is scrubbed off, even the skin between your fingers and toes.
Afterwards you are lathered with liquid soap and shampoo and given the choice of a full body massage. The men and women working in the Turkish Hamams are known to give extremely invigorating massages. If you're up for it, let them work away your stress and weariness. The massage will start at your neck and work every muscle down the entire length of your spine to your feet. This is especially wonderful and guaranteed to make you feel relaxed. You will roll over, and the attendant will wash you from head to toe again as if you are a small child. One last shower and then it is time to leave the steam room.
Then you are given fresh towels and again brought to Soðukluk (the cool room) to rest, dry off, drink tea, coffee or refreshments and socialize with other "Hamamers". A deep breath: YOU HAVE SURVIVED THE HAMAM
Finally it is time to go! So get up and get dressed and as you pass from the bathing rooms take a fleeting look at yourself in the mirror. Your skin will be glowing rosily (and feel as soft as a baby's) and may even look like a slightly undercooked lobster pink!
Best of all, taking a Turkish bath is like looking through a window into another world. When you visit a Turkish Hamam, you're really experiencing Turkey's culture.

Do you arrange the Turkish Baths in Marmaris also?

Reason being, I had one last year, but I dont think the place we went, (cant remember hotel name) were really up on the massage, and it only lasted a few minutes. I think I had a better massage than my OH, but he wasnt overly impressed.

I would like to try a better one this year, even if it means paying a little more. We bought ours off one of the guys by the Harbour in Marmaris.
