Hi All,
Here`s a bit of fun for you,...."DESERT ISLAND ICMELER" pick your top six things you are looking forward to the most, here is mine;

1/ MEATBALLS WITH CHEESE
2/ EFFES
3/ THE WALK FROM ICMELER TO MARMARIS, WITH A BEER EVERY 5TH BAR!
4/ SPENDING CHRISTMAS DAY IN THE 3 BELLS,..... IN AUGUST!
5/ WATCHING FOOTBALL MATCHES WITH COMPLETE STRANGERS.
6/ SLIDING INTO THE POOL,..... JUST BEFORE YOUR BODY CATCHES FIRE!

1, Hot fresh bread from the bakers
2, listening to the mosque call to prayer.
3,watching everyone enjoy themselves
4,laying in the sun on my day off.
5,seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
6,The feeling of being back home in Icmeler.

At the end of the season ask me again im sure it will be different like

1, soaking in a hot bath
2, a new pair of feet
3, sleeping for 2 months

6- And my fave bit the drive from the airport when you can just see icmeler down the hill i love that bit.

2. Arriving at my apartment and putting the key in the door
3. An ice cold Effes
3. Practising my Turkish again!
4. Meeting up with old friends
5. Deciding where to eat on that first night
6. Falling asleep on my sun bed under a shady tree (with plenty of sun cream on I might add!)

6. The feeling of being at home with not a care in the world

No.1 has to be the drive down the hill into Icmeler and knowing it's not long till I reach my second home.
No.2 Is all the smiles, cuddles and hello's from friends
No.3 has to be a meal at a resturant overlooking the sea
No.4 has to be a visit to my favourite jewellers (Princess)
No.5 an ice cold beer

1. Walking off the plane and into the lovely sunshine, knowing its the beginning!!!
2. The feeling you get on that first night out, knowing that there are plenty more to come.
3. Lying near the pool listening to my favourite music in my favourite place
4. Drinking a cold glass of Efes on our way back from the beach
5. Getting to know new people sitting in and around the pool, just chatting & relaxing
6.As a lot of other people have said 'going home' and seeing old friends and being given the best welcome in the world!!

2....The hugh BIG welcome you get from all your old friends.

3....All the familiar Turkish smells.

4....First meal in your favourite restaurant.

5....The Sun, the Sea, the Sand, the Efes, the feeling of being home.

1.the first glimpse of icmeler from the coach.
2. sunrise and sunsets.
3.nursing an ice cold efes while watching the world go by.day or night.
4.an evening stroll along the canal after dinner.
5.chilling with a book while the other half turns brown in her spot on the beach.
6.playing on the swings, on a balmy evening, under a million stars with my grandkids

6. The lovely fresh pitta bread and mezzes yuuuummmm

ooowwwwhhhh cant pick six looking at all of your answers ...love it all so going to ruin the game and say all of the above!!

Mine has to be

1. One we have our suitcases and can chill in the taxi with a bottle of water
2. The taxi driver putting his turkish music on and then you know your in Turkey when he starts driving 100mph with no belt on!!!
3. Coming around the "famous bend"
4. Seeing all of our turkish friends
5. Waking the next morning and knowing you have two weeks (normally) of it!
6. Me and my hubby arguing over who has caught the most sun the first night!!

This is on arrival in Turkey after my winter absence.....

1. Seeing Ali waiting for me after a day travelling from the UK

2. Ali pulling into the garage outside Dalaman and getting me a few beers for the journey.

3. Wondering what side of the road the American car scrap yard will be on this year.

4. Getting my first glimpse of the sea at Gokova as we turn the corner to Marmaris.

5. Looking for the Kokorec van and just after that turn and having one with an Ayran.

6. On first sight of the sea at Marmaris looking down to see how big Beldibi has grown through the winter.

7. Seeing the bay of Icmeler as we pass the Anatolia Cafe and knowing I am back.

8. Meeting Ali's wife Songul, Kagan and Ece as it is always great to see them again.

9. Having breakfast with Rami at Halil Restaurant just outside of marmaris and is always something I look forward to.

Ok I put 9 and I could have done lots more but the one's I didn't put were the likes of seeing Rami, Sharon, Tracy etc but we are all in constant contact daily so it seems like we are never apart anyway.

[Rami Off Work]

1 - May 04th Seeing John and telling him how much weight he has lost over the winter although he may not have.

2 - Going swimming with John and watch him loose *more* weight.

3 - Going shopping with John as he needs new sandals, sun glasses, sun cream, and mexican food.

4 - Going to famous kitchen so John can take the piss out of everyone around and make up afterwards

5 - Wait for John to get over his first night drinking party as the first night is always on the harsh side

6 - Back to work and looking forward to meeting our guests, friends, family through out the only `real` year we have in Icmeler (May to Nov)

Ooops, i forgot one so here it goes

7 - Listen John asking me if he can take the car for a spin eventhough he knows that I would never let him after crashing it at one occasion (hit and run, no one was hurt) and crashing in to it the second time but its still fun to hear him ask over and over again each year

I guess, this year it will be a bit different for me, waiting for John to come over and kill me after this post:)
