Help!!!! Visa issues!! Can you still pay atthe airport?

Travelling to Icmeler in 3 weeks. Just applied for evisa and been turned down as my passport has to be valid for 6 months after your date of entry into Turkey, and mine is just 10 days short of this! I rang them for more info and they said I may be able to pay at the airport as your passport only has to be valid for 5 months if you do this but they told me to check on the Turkish Consulates website if this is still available. This website was very confusing and when I rang there was just an answer service listing other numbers to ring all of which just gave me more numbers to ring which were dead lines!! Does anybody know if I am able to pay at the airport and will I be ok with just under six months left on my passport? I am panicking because if i have to send for a new passport now I doubt I will get it back in time at this time of year!! Any help or info would be much appreciated x

Hi - as far as I know, you can still pay at the airport for the time being, although it will cost you £20. As for the passport issue itself, the official government website does state that you need six months on your passport and doesn't seem to make any distinction between applying online or at the airport. In fact, since the beginning of this year, you also need 60 days' validity on your passport from the expiry of your visa, making it in effect eight months rather than six.
Personally, I would try to renew your passport if you can rather than take the risk

Thanks for that, Just worried that it won't be back in time. Just looked again on the consulate website and it says the following

"In order to enter Turkey having a visa with 90 days “duration of stay”, foreigners should hold a travel document valid at least for an additional 60 days which totals to 150 days (90 days + 60 days) of validity at the time of entrance."

I think this means my passport should be ok, but nowhere on the website does it say that you can buy the visa at the airport so really confused!! Just wish there was somebody I could phone for straight answer but none of the numbers on the website are helping.

Mandyb,yes you can still get visas at the airport £20.I would get a new passport,do fast track at the Post office they say it may take 3 weeks mine came back in 5 days.I wouldnt risk turning up in Dalaman.

My daughter bought a visa at Dalaman last month.
