From the centre of town where the Icmeleronline office and fountains are, walk toward the main canal and with the sea and canal on your right go past canal and take second turn on the right and the Wine house is at the bottom of that road

Is it any good JT? ... June the 20th will be our 4th visit 'home' in 2 years and we always say we must try new places etc, but end up in the same old haunts!

Any others you could recommend would be good too!

Also regarding trips are ICR as competitive as the usual Street sellers etc?

Winehouse is good, yes - others I would recommend are Hanedan and Meryem Yemek Evi - both lovely Turkish food, no chips etc, no loud music or dancing waiters. Lovely people at both as well...
We do have a few favourites, but like to try different places every time, and will probably be trying some more of the little Turkish places where the locals eat again

Yes, from the square, walk up to the main road and cross over - go up the side street beside the jewellers past Romance Palace and you will see Hanedan on your right hand side and Meryem almost opposite it.

We 'found' the winehouse last year - had a delicious meal and great hospitality too. Well worth going for the walk looking for it - you will not be disappointed! It is advisable to book a table because it is sooooo popular. Enjoy.

Either go down the side street next to the Red Lion and you'll find Selam about halfway down there on the left hand side, or from the Florida, take the next on the left and it's up past the Holiday if you're coming that way.

Florida is at the top of the canal across the road, on the same road as love boat, just past the taxi's.
Florida do lovely meals as well.

Not really very good on directions but it's on the same side street as Selen2 hotel. There is an area map on this site where it advertises the available hotels. It's a lovely Turkish resturant run by Sibal and her husband. We'll worth seeking out.

Ok, from L'Etoile, walk up towards the main square with the fountains, etc, but instead of going into the square turn left and head along towards the Marmaris road. When you get to the top of the canal, you will see the Florida restaurant just ahead of you - walk past it and take the next road on the left. Holiday is just up there on the right, and Selam a bit further up.

have a look at https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8 ... dg=feature
most are marked in the right place but there are a few eg Wembley in the wrong place. Hopefully someone will come along and update it. Not able to do it myself :(

I've made a list of all the places people have recommended, I've put it in the front of my passport wallet, then once We're there we can get directions from the "locals"

Like you geordie1970, if we eat in all these places we'll need 2 seats each on the plane home !!
So.....You are the same age as our son, give or take a few month.

Ps. Great minds think alike! ... I said to Mrs G earlier that I'll be taking a list of these places with me and that 'we're' exploring this hol! ... Her face said it all, so it's a meal for one a few times I think! Lol
