Knowing the Turks, it wouldn't surprise me...they're usually pretty quick off the mark with these things

In my experience if you ask for a particular item at the beginning of your holiday & they haven't got it, you can guarantee that they will have it on sale by the end of your holiday. £90... Then they wonder why we bring home copies from Turkey

Each to their own, personally I wouldn't buy a football shirt anyway but this is one item that the Turkish are not very good at copying, they are excellent at most items like handbags, sunglasses etc but I have never seen a half decent copied football shirt.

If I did have a moment of madness and decide to buy one you can get the shirt for £47.99 from sports direct but I'm sure lots of people would prefer to haggle all night in Icmeler to get a substandard copy for £20-25 ish.

Hi madazahatta, my personal experience of buying copies has only been good. I have bought several club shirts at about a tenner a time mainly for my son (cannot get my size !) .They have always been of very good quality, in most cases as good as the originals. I would never pay the prices that is asked in this country.

I have had the same as pedro.think I got two full kits for 15quid
Have bought fakes last year for my young son and no problems at all with the quality,he wears them still.
We were in icmeler last June and bought new release kits that hadn't been released in England at the time.compared them with my sons friends which are genuine and not a lot of difference.
Especially for kids I'd buy the fakes again

If you are buying fakes of any kind, just a couple of tips - check the quality very carefully, it can vary enormously. And check that you get exactly what you want - especially when it comes to size. Especially at the markets, for instance, it has been known for them to show you one item which looks great, then they shove stuff in a bag and you get back to discover it's of a lesser quality and not the size you asked for.

I'll second that Blondie ... I came back to the Hotel with Mrs G in September and discovered that my 'Bargain' Vests were all diff sizes! .. Depending which one I wore I either looked 'ripped' as some were so tight on me or I looked like I'd been on a crash diet as some were that baggy! Lol

Also find that the 'designer' fake t-shirts from the Market are okay whilst there, but take them home to wash then they don't fit me again! .. So I'm sticking to the Shops in June I reckon for any clothing

Bought various items from Turkey for our 10 year old grandson, football shirts, beats headphones, vans footwear, superdry sweat tops (hoodies) & they have all been good fakes. Not bought at the market, all from the shops in Icmeler. Seeing how quickly he grows out of them they are quite good enough. His mum & dad are into designer gear and so far they have been well impressed by the stuff we have bought him at a fraction of UK prices.

We bought a really nice quality fake handbag at the market.
Gave it to the seller and he said I'll get you a new one as this one is display one so dirty.
Didn't think to check it and got home to find the zip broken and the lining completely missing.
Once bitten and all that!!!!!!

Yep, I do agree. The market is no cheaper than the shops. You can still haggle over 50p in the shops (previous experience, hubby trying to get 50p knocked off the price of some beats headphones for our grandson, tight or what)

My experience of the market is...it's always so bl###y hot under those canvases! to many people pushing & shoving, rude stall holders (not all). We stick to the shops now. However, I do love to go around the fruit & veg stalls, it always looks so inviting.

Agree Mansy, the heat is unbearable in there! ... We've done Marmaris and Icmeler Markets and they're stifling! :(

Stall holders are pushy, starts as good banter but can turn personal and nasty very quickly! ..... I'm sticking to the Shops as mentioned in my prior post .... ... You do learn eventually ......

Thanks everybody for your input. Must say,we've had sum really good fake gear both from market and shops, but do agree market can be dodgy and you do have to check stuff. We tend to go to shops for clothes etc now and just visit market for fruit and spices.

Don't worry. I'm sure if you ask in the shops they will find you some along with some Boxer Shorts with only one leg hole

I can see a few people having a pop at the market traders.
I agree a few cross the line.
A few years back i was loaded up with bags and when i got back to the hotel i was a bag missing.
I had purchased 4 shirts for a tenner so we are probably talking ten years ago.
My mate who was also in the resort told me to go back the following week and mention it.
To be honest i felt an idiot because in England those shirts would be well and truly lost but i went back to the stall and told the bloke.
He said "Yes you left them here but when we cleared up they went back with all the other shirts so take any 4 you want".
As i shook his hand he also gave me a pair of Calvin Klein boxer shorts as a present.
I repaid this by buying shirts off him every year even if i didn't really need them.
Just thought i would add this post to balance things up.
