Avon skin so soft was removed from the catalgue a couple of years ago as all supplies were being sent over for the armed forces

Funny, during my 13 years in the forces I cannot recall avon so soft ever being issued  In Belize they gave us DEET. The SAS buy their own kit so can't speak for them. Urban myths - don't you love em!!!!

Harry do you know of anywhere that buys military stuff. I used to work with the ex general manager of Windsor Swords, and he gave me as a parting gift an sas dagger, that was given to the sas when they left the forces!
It's been authenticated by sotherbys, and was valued about 6 yrs ago at £1,500 as the mould has been broken, so will never be reproduced, and I'm thinking about selling it, as I want to give my beautiful girlfriend a holiday she will never forget.
Any info would be much appreciated.
I know it's off topic, but hey, worth asking :-)
Thanks

I have studied Aromatherapy at college and the Avon product mentioned contains Citronella oil which has for years been recognised in many countries as a non-toxic plant based biopesticide. It not only repels mosquito's but other annoying insects such as midges, bed bugs, fleas etc.
Apparently it is also effective in calming barking dogs so if it will work on a mad rabid dog I would not like to find out!

I think if you find something which works for you, that's great. I've got to watch what products I use, as I have very sensitive skin and a lot of the DEET-containing insect repellents irritate it. Avon SSS seems to work for me - I know it doesn't work for everyone, however. This year, I'm also taking garlic and Vit B tablets as an extra precaution.
And Avon SSS is definitely used by some troops abroad - colleagues of mine frequently do embedded press trips with the army and they were using it in both Belize and Kenya, whether it is officially recommended or not.

Chris about the best place outside of a bonafide specialist military auction is ebay, there are literally thousands and thousands of military memorabelia on sale. Sorry can't be of any more help mate

Hi Kerry,
I tried eBay once before, bidding got up to £480 and then I had a guy email saying it's not worth that much but he would give me £800 as he liked the design, it was at this point I realised I was wasting my time.
But maybe I will have another go this weekend.
If u don't try u will never know I guess!!!
Thanks
Chris

You could try antique fairs there might be a collector of these kind of items there.
