ALVARO APARTMENTS

Postby RUGRATSUE » 20 Jul 2006 18:38

Going to Icmeler again but want to stay at Alvaro (as best flights) but haven't stayed there before. We are a couple in our early 40s with no kids. I'm happy provided room is clean and there is a good pool. I know Icmeler isn't a noisy place but ideally don't want to be above a fun pub!! Anybody been there recently?

Hiya

I was in Icmeler in May for 2weeks stayed opposite the Alvaro in 3bells.
Love the Alvaro, been going for years.
You'll have no problem with the apartments as the restaurant is set way in front of the apartments.
I dont know if the pool bar is still open of a night time,so couldnt comment on that sorry.

When are you going??

Flying 29th September so I knoq quieter time anyway. Thanks for feedback. Our other option was The Price Apartments, nearer beach but not through a main operator so not as sure about it.

We have spent our last 3 times staying at the Alvaro the pool area is excellent and the appartments are spotless you have maids in avery day, towels changed every other day and sheets changed twice a week. The staff are all brillant and nothing is to much trouble for them.We have friends who have stayed at the Prince appartments and said they found it quite noisey at night but that the appartments were very good.We might be going back again to the Alvaro end of September so might see you then.

Hiya

Yeah i have stayed at the Prince apartments 2 or 3 times now.
I suppose it depends which room your in,as i've had one over looking the pool just above the bar and a road view facing the hotel navy.So i guess it depends where you are regards to noise, but i've never had any problems in the rooms.
Pool area is nice and as you know is a minutes walk from the beach.

Thanks for the tips - I think we will plump for The Alvaro. One final point - I hear a lot of good reports about The Waterfall Restaurant - we have been to Icmeler before but never to that Restaurant - can anyone tell me where it is as we certainly want to try it. We like to try all foods when we are away - especially the local food. Last time we had a "Feast of the Ottoman Emperor" - can't remember the restaurant but when the food arrived I thought they must have mistaken us for a party of 6, not 2, as it had enough food to feed a small army; all traditional dishes. I tried desperately to eat most of it (as I didn't want the guys to think I didn't like it as it was beautiful) but basically there comes a time when your stomach says no more - suffice to say a young puppy that was roaming around outside had a nice evening tucking into a huge lump of prime lamb- it looked at us as if it was Xmas. Even though the weather is nice here I can't wait to go away and enjoy the relaxed pace and friendliness of Icmeler again.

Waterfall

Do you know where the market that you go down stairs to is. If you follow that road round towards the beach it is on the right hand side just round the bend. (bit like me) if you see the wonderboys pub you have gone to far.

Hope this helps
