terrorism in Turkey is it safe

Just seen a in daily star about terrorists in Turkey who are targeting tourist areas in Turkey can anyone shed any light on this as have booked up for next year thanks

I wouldn't worry about it too much Dusty. There are terrorists everywhere these days, and there's probably more chance of an attack here in the UK than in Turkey. Scaring people, and putting them off visiting a country, is part of the plan to rock the economy. For some people, the threat would be enough to keep them away. It certainly won't put me off going.

For one thing, it's the Daily Star and only fit for wrapping chips in...secondly, while no-one should be complacent and we should all be aware of our personal safety and security at home or abroad, if you let these terrorists stop you living your everyday life or doing things like going on holiday, then you are automatically letting them win. This is exactly what they want - to create a climate of fear.

I frequently travel to and feel just safe in Turkey than anywhere else.

As others have said nowhere is without risk these days.

Look forward your holiday & put it to the back of your mind.

The Turkish secret service is superb.
However, like anywhere. Terrorism can happen.
We have more chance of being killed crossing the road. We still cross it.

DaveyD. I have to agree with you. Many years ago there was a bomb exploded on a Dolmus in Marmaris and my husband wouldn't go back to Icmeler because of this. After a number of years we went back and my sister, who holidayed with us, said why have we never been here before? We have been going twice a year ever since without incident and I am going back in October. Life's for living and I often regret that decision made years ago. To all those going out soon enjoy your holiday. I intend to and I won't let the current situation deter me.

We were on the dolmus in front of the one that blew up.Bangkok when it was the sunami .Last new year an earthquake in Antalya so we say the same as others we could stay at home and be killed on the road or blown up.So we are back in Antalya for new year and Ustanbul February.
