South Coast Hero-I am not quite 80 :lol. That said, most of the places Blondie mentioned I consider to be fairly new-unless you count when Bamboo was on the beach front, so I am not quite 18 either!
I will not divulge my age but I will say it was 20ish years ago when I was living there and there were no traffic lights anywhere near the old village. I used to get the little green train home. Oh, and the dry canal went from the old village straight down to where Migros now is. There was very little to see on the way!
Redrhino 12-I am so pleased someone remembers these bars. I also used David's Bar frequently, particularly in winter. It was one of the very few places that was open in those long winter months. I remember David and his wife very well. I wonder what the are doing now.
Yes, dinner on the sewing machines was a wonderful experience. I never ate in the Pop Inn but we used to go in for drinks on a regular basis. The Rest Bar did not last long. It is apartments now. Maybe we were in some of these bars at the same time
I also remember most of the places on your list and agree with hagrag;it would be nice to see the photos.
Lovely to reminisce
