Is it just me or has this forum become very quiet over the last couple of seasons some posts never replied to whereas they used to be replied to almost immediately.

I think the way we social media has changed. A lot of this will be down to Facebook, there are lots of Icmeler groups on Facebook and that where many people go now

Yes, I have to agree with that - there are so many Icmeler groups on Facebook now, that I think most people post on those instead.

Hi.
I come on the Forum almost daily, and when I can answer or participate, I used to post photos, but its easier to post photos on Facebook than to upload to Photobucket and the to add Img code.
We are returning to Icmeler in September for our 2nd of 2 Weeks Holiday after spending first week in Fethiye (new destination), also we had a week in July to Kalkan, which we found to be stunning, so much so we are planning to return next year as well as our usual Icmeler Trip.

I personally do not use Facebook but I do use this forum and reply to some of the items. I do miss the webcam even though simons diamonds is available it doesn't show as much and the beach front only shows limited view so please please hurry up and get it working again as I will be out in 7 weeks and would like to see more!!!

I too have noticed the quietness of the forum. I'll be honest, I haven't been on here for a long while and have just come back to start posting and reading again. I used to really enjoy the forum with all the updates, reviews, blogs and pictures. I will continue to do so and when I go back to Icmeler again next year, I will still post my blog each day.

Same here Sami. I used to be on the forum daily but as I knew I couldn't visit this year I kept my distance, not to be reminded of what I was missing. I'm now eleven months from my next visit. Even though it's a long time away it's when my usual countdown would begin. I've visited for the past twelve years. On our next visit there will have been many changes, just hope our favourites will still be there.

I don't use social media either.

Agree with all the replies ,over the years we have bumbed into people in restaurants in resort and most of them were registered on this forum so we often got asked what our log in names were but like a couple of people have mentioned so many people are now on the Facebook groups but as we are not on Facebook we stick to icmeler on line forum and trip advisor forum , I miss reading a lot of reviews and looking at the uploaded pictures , but I cannot wait to return in September that's one thing that hasn't changed I still look forward to going just as much as ever.

If its ok to count 11 months then I can start counting with my 9 months till my Icmeler fix. I once went on a boat trip and nearly everyone on board was an ICR member so it was really funny to put faces to log in names. As mentioned, I know there will be a lot of changes when I do go and I too hope my favourites are still there. I still have a few contacts that I have kept in touch with and therefore will know where to head first.

I agree that it's quieter on here, but I'm not so sure it's because of Facebook. Most of the posts I see on FB. forums are either from individuals who live there or businesses. The elephant in the room is the simple fact that Icmeler is quieter than in recent years. Less people from the UK are visiting, and the quietness on here merely reflects that fact. It's something that some people are uncomfortable with discussing, but it's an undeniable fact.

That is definitely an issue - no doubt about it, although I have to say that the majority of posts I see on Facebook are from other holidaymakers rather than residents or businesses. They probably get a more immediate response on there than they would do from a forum like this too - especially now that it is so much quieter.

Another change on the forum is the fact that JT is no longer on here since he left ICR. He'd often post things to spark interest and conversation between forum members.

Yes, he is missed. I sometimes feel like I'm very much on my own in here now - but I do try. We need your input too, guys - so please keep posting!

No he left in January, Sami. He works back in Liverpool now. I spoke to him last week, he's doing well.

He lives there. Has done for a few years. He's not been with ICR since January. Like I say though, he's doing well. I speak to him quite often.

Glad that JT is doing well. He will be missed on here and also meeting up for a drinking sesh when I'm over there. It was like walking around town with a celebrity. Great fun. I will miss those days.
